I think the right is ideologically invested in just making noise about something Obama does at all times, so they'll tell the people who aren't paying any attention that something entirely different happened.

I'm not going to lie. I voted Gary Johnson in 2012, but I'd vote Obama in 2016.

Legitimate? None.

Yes, it's essentially just stricter background checks, but they're also streamlining the old process and hiring more agents to get qualified people their guns faster, and he's throwing in funding for an expansion of mental health services to try and help people before they go nuts instead of wondering what made them go nuts after the fact. Nothing whatsoever about taking away anyone's guns.

We'll see if this makes any real difference in the real world, but it's better than the absolute zero anyone else has been doing.

I won't, but somebody might. If say the Black Panthers wanted to arm up again, at this point I'd say they have a pretty legitimate claim to it.

I love how Canadian your world view is. It's easy to say these things when you come from a frozen tundra of limited natural resources no one fights over. You never overthrew Britain, because you knew you would have nothing to gain from it. That child mentality of always being under mother's wing is nice, but at the same time mother never turned on you, so you have no perspective of what it's like when she becomes abusive.
