If it was just a minority that purchased multiple copies of things, you couldn't use it to swing elections. Baring corruption, everyone only gets 1 vote.

the short of it is that the US is behind everyone else in research. Companies and the government are not funding research.
Man, the wealthy are really doing a great job, creating jobs.
Some really interesting graphs that correlate gun deaths to political leanings of each state
https://www.crowdpac.com/blog/gun-deaths
The interesting bit is that it doesn't correlate to being murdered with a gun. That is actually pretty random. What it does correlate to is suicide. Conservative states are more likely to commit suicide with a gun than liberals.
The article also points out that the big nasty number of total gun deaths that gets rolled out each year isn't total murders or crimes with a gun. 2/3rds of it is suicide.
Let that sink in. 2/3rds of the gun deaths each year in the US are suicide. The only gun control that would lower that number would be an outright ban.
Or you know, better funding for mental health, wider availability to health care, and a campaign to remove the stigma of men receiving mental health care.
But you know, fuck that, lets ban ak clips.
This was intresting. What was the suicide rate among all causes? Does that skew different?
Back when Michael Brown Had His Very Fun No Good Day, I went to Wikipedia and pulled the highest and lowest murder rates in cities with populations over 100,000. Then I went to each of those cities and pulled their race. Here is what that looks like on a graph.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/att...chmentid=78636
Correction: cities over 250k. source the right axis is the murder rate per 100,000 and the left is the demographic percentage
I can see how political ideology leads to suicide as conservatism is inherently isolated and lonely, in which the end game is suicide.
I think conservatives are also the least likely to seek help for mental problems. Either because doing so is fairly new or because of faith in older methods that don't work, like faith healings. There is also a higher stigma against long term drug use so they may be more likely to not take their scrp. There might also be a fundamental misunderstanding of how mental health script work and they are going off their meds as soon as they feel better because they think they work like antibiotics.
Conservatives also beleive in more restrictive and higher gender rolls and standards, which probably leads to more depression.
Or liberals are just offing themselves with pills because of the poor cleaning lady.
Is suicide higher in conservatives states?

The only predictor seems to be living in the West. Goddamn.
