I couldn't really decide the best place to put this. The thread is for the wedding of music and animation/film. Its a really interesting phenomena that happened from the mid 70s to the early 90s and still continues in japan. The US seems to have dabbled in it in the 80s and early 90s. There is something fascinating about a show's best music and animation being dumped into a 90 second intro or series climax.

It probably started in the 30s with Betty Boop.

It is also nice when real musicians pare animation with songs

I would post the intro for Nichijou, but everything on youtube is way less insane than whatever bootleg I used to have.
So you get this.

you know, I thought about ti more today, and perhaps music and film/video is the oldest type of animation/film?
Silent movies with music predate "talkies" by quite a bit

You've been, almost exclusively, posting bonged out musings for days now. What's going on?

You should check out Off The Air by Adult Swim, its a series of animation compilations put to music that are usually themed. Some of it is really amazing on drugs ololol

Couldn't find a decent quality version so this will have to do. The amazing thing about this opening is how little animation is actually in it, but how good it looks anyway.
And this one which is weird and wrong and disturbingly good-

speaking of weirdness.
Man, anime had some weird closing credits. Like Gungrave's run through the fields ending (yes, gungrave, where your undead cowboy kills mafia drugged out undead)
