I shouldn’t be able to buy a gun without a waiting period, but I can. It’s a terrible idea. I would gladly surrender that right.

Then TNL agrees, waiting periods are ok.
So when are we finally going to have that "everyone won the argument" TNL pizza and ice cream social?
When you discuss policy with people it becomes clear they don’t really think about the negative consequences of their proposed changes. It always seems to get hand waved away as being for “The Greater Good (TM)”. Except any enforcement generally has negative aspects to it. You have to explore those effects too, and determine if it actually is making things better. In the case of gun control I think we’ve had enough of these discussions to realize very few people have thought their plans out. Even simple collateral effects are shrugged off because of how symbolic the gun is.
These discussions are good when they get tactical imo.
This is old, but find something else to bond over. "I wouldn't really know my dad if he didn't cultivate my fetishism for wiener-shaped murder-sticks." Oh well. I'm sure all kinds of familial bonds were forged over fathers teaching sons about the responsibilities of slave ownership. Tough shit.
Would you be comfortable saying that if you weren't imagining rural whites in your head?
Would you use that tone and language to talk to us born brown people about how unhealthy their food is?
Really, you could pick a dozen different things minorities do to bond that isn't good at excess.
I look forward to arbm sassy comments on sugared yams for the holidays. Sure, many black family's like them during thanks giving and christmas, but they'll just have to get over it.
Yes.
A yam is exactly like a tool whose function is to kill people.
Someone can just as easily steal their parents' yam...
their parents'
yam...
and kill with it.
If black families were eating high capacity magazines on Christmas, yes, I would ask that they consider a different holiday treat.
This is not one of your better analogies.
