Even if it doesn't, the fact that she feels it would help her get elected says a lot.

Yup.
A bright side: I've been chatting with a lot of my friends who took part in the marches. Regardless of gender or skin color or whatever, they seem to be pretty aware of how the Dems screwed up.
I'm not going to get my hopes up, but it would be great if they just started their own political party.
Obviously they screwed up. They lost an election to Donald Trump. HOW they feel they screwed up is what tells the story.
That's why this video is so weird. It's the Dems doubling down on all the shit that lost them the election. Obama won by visiting manufacturing states and talking to poor whites. His "God and guns" comment was a major screw up but it was early in the campaign and he never repeated it or anything like it again. But now the Dem party is like that comment writ large. It's infuriating.
They really need to drop guns and avoid comments on christanity. Focus on helping people, labor, econ, healthcare etc.
Old whites secretly want better healthcare. They're going to be using more and more of it.
The gun stuff will continue to sort itself out as health and standard of living goes up.
Dems need to realize that people are going to take care of themselves before others, and that doesn't mean they're bad people. Calling them bad people will not win them to your side.
Dems need to realize the only way to win elections is to fight the patriarchy and white privilege.
I don't care what your Bible says people should do.
People on both sides do this, too. Andrew was just saying that women should be marching in Saudi Arabia if they cared about helping the worst off. People are going to affect change by affecting the world that they see. Because they aren't leaving their bubble doesn't mean they hate those outside the bubble.
