Trump is going 4 years pal. Come to terms with it.
Can’t stump.
Trump is all this plus WWIII. In addition to schools, he wants to privatize highways and food assistance and do it fast. He's just a K-Groove Pence/Miller/Ratio 2 Kelly puppet mediated through an ego that might start a nuclear holocaust over Twitter. Pence wouldn't have thrown out either of those two pre-shutdown bipartisan budget bills that perpetuated DACA and contained no funds for The Wall. DACA would be safe under Pence.
If Trump makes it 4 years, America is done. Politics will just go Full Thunderdome, and the Empire will slowly collapse. His biggest threat is just cultural.
I wonder if assholes were saying that shit during the depression? Or that president that got stuck in tubs.
Since he was voted in, it's in the best interest of American democratic order that he finishes out his term. He's just a really bad president though. History won't be kind to him.
Term limits, power limits, general partisonship... he won't be able to do infinite damage to the system. Droning on and on about tearing the system down because you don't like this candidate or his ideas is just pathologically wrong. Lets hope he goes 4 years (tops) and we can all move on with our lives.
One of those rare times I agree! He'll stay the 4 years, but in history books they are gonna skip over this period pretty hardcore. "A black president was elected in 2008, some taxes were collected, then a woman/gay/trans/jew/latinx/etc in 2020! yay!" He's just not going to do much of anything but make some annoying policy more annoying. However, I don't think the optimists who want to "reform the system" are necessarily wrong, they just have to not vote for trump again in 2020 if saint bernie doesn't make the nomination (hint: they will anyway.)
Bernie will be 80 in 2020. You'd be voting for the VP.
It would be more politically convenient to have him for four years, especially presiding over a blue/r House and Senate. Ousting him would invigorate the people who might otherwise sit November 2020 out. Gimme the whimper, not the bang.
Normally yeah, but in this case the target of the criticism adds daily to his laundry list of shit that should legitimately destroy careers and actively wages a war on the very notion of facts. This is not business as usual.
I never liked the main Republican nominees or presidents, but I've never thought that any of them were irredeemable shitstains who had absolutely no business being anywhere near the office. Hatred for Trump shouldn't be a partisan issue; He's not terrible because he's a Republican, he's terrible because he's just an absolute cockmuppet of a human being. Less a man than a fistful of abhorrent traits and contemptible logic, given howling Lovecraftian flesh.
Uhh no. Lefty has been yelling Literal Hitler since Bush I. Bush II started two wars that persist to this day as basically occupations (on admittedly fabricated intelligence aka lies), reopened Guantanamo, and enacted the worst infringement of personal privacies with the patriot act the breadth of which was uncovered by a guy a decade later who is still exiled to Russia to this day.
I think you're ignoring the obvious Drew. Does the US Government resemble a functioning institution right now? Did it during Bush and Bush II: This time it's Personal?
Functional? Lol
There are over 100 employees without a real security clearance (which is funny because of all the talk about Hilary’s email server)...and this is all one needs to know
https://www.google.com/amp/deadline....202289373/amp/
That’s six year old level.
I'm not talking about politics. I'm saying this guy has no idea what the presidency is or what he's supposed to do, and most of the people around him don't either. He's rapidly eroding public understanding of the office in a way we have not seen before.
That he's racist and authoritarian and drunk with power... that's nothing new, really. I'm not talking about that.
What is the president supposed to do, anyway?
The last guy was a neo-liberal conman.
Uhh I think it’s poorly run. But oh well? They voted this guy in. I understand the lamentations of Joust and the left leaning. But this is still no reason to burn the democratic system down.
I would’ve hoped a Trump Presidency would have been a call to be less hysterical and reactionary, not more.
Don’t want a Trump to get elected, don’t put someone as divisive as HRC up as your candidate. His ascension to power is as much the left’s fault as it is anyone elses.
That we called Bush Hitler too doesn't mean Trump is just another iteration of Bush; it means we exhausted our vocabulary before we encountered a guy who is much, much worse.
Don't forget that Bush 2 did 9/11.
It's really not, but if it makes you feel better to think it is gwon wit yer bad self.
We've discussed it plenty of times before. A lot of people would have voted the horse she rode in on before voting for her. She'd need a caravan of horses to carry all the baggage that came with her.
Hitler Weinstein.
People have had a problem with her since Arkansas.
From her short hair and slacks turning voters off in the 70s to the S&L scandals she was involved in during the 80s to her standing by Bill during Lewinski being seen as a power play and not as "I stand by my man" to the shit that happened when she was Secretary of State, more than half of the country was/is convinced she's the worst of the worst when it comes to political cronyism and "I'll say whatever it is I think you want to hear in order to get your vote" see-through bullshit.
Of course, they're all like that. But people really hated that woman long before she began running for president. Trump is a d-bag.I'm not arguing he's not. But he's our d-bag for better or worse and he's only ours because out of hundreds of millions of possible candidates the DNC ran with one about as likable as Nixon.
What are you talking about, Nixon won twice.
I meant after he resigned, obviously.
Has everyone that works for a company checked their recent check? I just got like $200 a month back in taxes.
It’s reparations for your great-great-great-grandmother. You get $200 back in taxes for every 1/32nd.
Big money that's a lot of CostCo memberships.
The House voted to gut the Americans with Disabilities Act today. Fucking disgusting.
It was probably the only way to fight the rampant abuse of the law being carried out by litigious assholes.
It was not.
There are a small number of lawyers who have filed thousands of bogus claims, and the courts have been slow to act on cracking down on them.
They could have reform the law around litigation requirements if that's true.
Yeah, if that's the reason for the Technically Correct party to support dropping/gutting ADA requirements, that's laughably flimsy.
I think there just needs to be a broader effort to discourage and punish vexatious litigation in general, but the judicial industry would just find a way to spin that into even more lawsuits and filing fees.
SLAPPs especially need addressed. A SLAPP filer doesn't expect to win, but they instead plan to burden the defendant with bullshit legal defense costs until they are silenced.
The USA should adopt the English Rule for the legal system, like nearly all Western democracies do. Loser pays.
I think that would probably deter SLAPPs, if the defendant were to fight back knowing the plaintiff didn't have jack shit on them. Defendant wins, & ends up off the hook while the plaintiff chokes on the legal bills from both sides. Fair enough.
Ah, it's been a long 3 months.

So... is this an admission that Russia was a dead end?
maybe in bizarro world, I guess
whatever floats your boat
It sounds like foreign interference is quite a big deal, but if it were US nationals doing exactly the same stuff it would be a first amendment thing.
Maybe it’s related. Cash for access is nothing new. It’s why the Clinton Foundation was so controversial. But she wasn’t an active president. I’m unsure why Joust keeps thinking every update of this wet fart of a story is big news.
What was the point of the media giving Trump millions in free airtime, if they weren’t going to cash in on it? Trump is news crack, we love the shit and as long as we’re buying, they’re gonna sell.
Or that it's just the beginning. I'm not really following your logic, here.
I personally do think that the "collusion"/election interference angle is a dead end, but the existence of other charges in this thing doesn't really imply anything one way or the other about that. I think this will ultimately come down to obstruction of justice and financial crimes. If I was a betting man, I'd say he gets impeached but not removed and chooses not to run for a second term.
Seemed like a huge shift in to foreign access from a broader place than just Russia. Could be connected, but comes across as grab baggy to me.
Find should be in quotes there. I feel like we’re at the point of “there HAS to be SOMETHING here” territory as they rummage through Trumps underwear drawer.
Wut? Do you even understand what the purpose of the investigation is? It's not to take down Trump, though if that happens it will of course be a very pleasant bonus. It's to expose every facet of how Russia interfered in the election, so that we can hold them accountable to whatever degree that's viable, and act to make sure it can't happen again. If anything looking into Kushner's involvement with foreign investors unconnected to Russia is overreach.
What Russia is alleged to have done is so minor that I don't see what good it does to waste resources on it. They can't actually punish anyone, and it's nothing compared to the shit the CIA does to interfere in the affairs of other countries.
Yeah, we've murdered elected officials to prop up American steel and other us owned factories.
That isn't tinfoil. You can Google it or buy the book on amazon.
Bitch, please. The only reason you talkin’ non-stop about this shit is impeachy dreams. If they’re focusing on China and other foreign collusions then either there’s a huge multi-national conspiracy or there isn’t that much proof of Russia’s bullshit as we were initially led to believe. Since they already charged lawyer guy with perjury it’s most likely the second.
wat?Quote:
If they’re focusing on China
Did you even read the article you posted? It's all about the investigation expanding to dealings with non-Russian foreign nationals specifically a $1.8bn debt deal.
There could be two reasons for the change of focus—there are collusions with multiple foreign nationals, or the Russian investigation wasn't great and they're looking for other dirt. Since the Russian investigation seems to be going nowhere I am assuming they've broadened their net.
But they are not focusing on China? Mueller isn't like the GOP congress where they can only do one thing "Obama Obama Obama Hillary"
okQuote:
there are collusions with multiple foreign nationals
What if Drew is a Russian account [emoji102]
We already know he's a foreign national.
Maybe that’s what happened to Despair. Drew took him out. There can be only one.
Ooh, so we can start calling him Komrade?
Yoshi, Diff-Chan and Andrew as well.

You need a cheat sheet for “I hear you”? Wow
I’ve seen some pretty gross things online, but this thing I saw this morning turned my stomach like nothing on the Daily Rotten ever did. I say this with no hyperbole. Seeing some gun nut on twitter proclaim he’s tired of being bullied by sob stories seriously made me feel ill.
Someone commented that “he must not have chidren in order to say that.” I’m 100% positive you don’t need to have kids in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in school shootings to “sob stories.”
People only care about school shootings when it’s white kids. More teens die in Baltimore or Chicago in any given month than in a single shooting, but no one cares because they’re black.
So he can’t remember an empathetic “I hear you”? He has a low EQ and he can’t string together three syllables and eight letters. Is this when he became presidential?
Obama needs a teleprompter at major speaking events! What an maroon!
It's fine that Trump needs a note prompting him to perform empathy during a conversation! You lost, libs, get over it!
Pretty sure Obama didn't use a teleprompter for Town Hall Q&A. Why even bring that up? Oh right Andrew.
Is the sentiment wrong though. Should everything or anything in the bill of rights be subject to the feelings of children?
Or to protect a minority of children?
Should our entire legal and economic system be shaped to protect .001 % of white children?
Because that is where we are headed. Ban the porn to protect the kids. Ban the guns to protect the kids. Redo roads to protect the kids. Etc etc.
KIDS KIDS KIDS KIDS KIDS
I’ve done this before. If I’m meeting with a team I’m leading, or any other such setting, any my primary purpose is to receive feedback, sometimes I’ll jot in the margin “you’re here to listen.” The temptation to spout off solutions can be quite strong, and the reminder helps. And there’s value in verbalizing that from time to time.
I never mentioned Obama. Someone’s awfully sensitive, though.
It’s a good thing you’re not the President of the United States, then. I and most other people seem to lead meetings just fine without one of my main prep points being “I understand”.
Oh that was four syllables
Well I wonder who the biggest offender of that these days isQuote:
the temptation to blurt out
The minute someone takes porn into a school and uses it to murder completely innocent, random people, yes IP. I do believe our entire legal and economic system should be reshaped. One could argue that the entire point of a legal and economic system is to protect the minority. The majority has no need of either, you see.
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a country music fan in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Las Vegas shootings to “sob stories.”
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a Batman movie fan in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Aurora shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a gay nightclub attendee in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Orlando shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a not-for-profit benefit supporter in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the San Bernadino shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a black Methodist in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Charleston shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be an enlisted man in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Fort Hood shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a gay nightclub attendee in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Orlando shooting to "sob stories."
I'm pretty sure you don't have to be looking for immigration services in order to see what a fucked up thing it is to reduce the loss involved in the Binghamton shooting to "sob stories."
Have I made my point you myopic turd? Because I can go on. It's not just about kids. But I don't understand why people being extremely upset by the murder of a child upsets you so much.
A few days ago, Florida legislators did decline a discussion on assault rifles to talk about how porn was the real danger, though
Priorities
Well church does imply porn is bad. Not guns. I mean sure, the murder. But not the guns.
Yes, you were just referencing a teleprompter for no reason!
You know exactly what you did and you're pretending you don't. You're doing tiny coyboy again. I forget to refill your thimble of sugarwater ONE NIGHT and you start this again.
I love y'all but Internet is bumming me out pretty hard. Stuff like the guy from SSJN's post making himself the real victim of a school shooting (this from the same camp who constantly mocks the left for self-victimization) is past the point where making fun of it is a helpful coping mechanism. Nice profile pic taken at a fuckin library btw, dipshit. When you want books in the background of your profile photo but don't actually have one in your house...
See? That wasn't fun. I don't feel any better.
Now, now gents. Perhaps each and every one of us all mistook Andrew's intent. Let us give him a chance to explain the meaning of his ellipsis. We know for sure it had nothing to do with Obama at least.
edit: size function is broken?
If I wanted to bring Obama into the discussion, I would mention how our current president is doing far more than his predecessor ever did to end the violence. Trump is on board with more rigorous background checks, banning bump stocks, increased age limits, and that’s just for starters. Given that he’s a Democrat from New York, we can reasonably assume that more restrictions are up for discussion.
I think we’re going to finally see some serious gun reform under the current administration, and that’s a wonderful thing. It’s long overdue.
(insert mom joke)Quote:
edit: size function is broken?
You knew what you meant. We've specifically talked about this. You fuck up anything you have to say by putting those little jabs at the end.
What have I been telling you all about Andrew for years?
That just makes me an expert. It doesn't mean I'm wrong.
I see five sentences that address the question asked 0%.
Hey...are you planning to run for office?
Without even bringing D v R up here (are you serious about this w.r.t. gun control?), Trump is on board with DACA too, supposedly. Yet the exact opposite keeps happening.Quote:
Trump is on board
Far more? Name literally one thing Trump has done to "end the violence." "He said he doesn't like bump stocks" is not a thing he has done to end anything. He said he wanted to protect DACA literally one day before he decided he didn't.
Who overwhelmingly rejected the 2012 bill which would have expanded background checks and outlawed the high capacity magazines used in the FL shooting?
.... what
the
fuck
Trump wants it? Then why did he reject three bipartisan bills that would have preserved it? He had the bill on his desk and said no. Trump.
Come on, dude. If he wanted to protect DACA he could sign off on it right this second. DACA protection keeps getting to Trump's desk and stopping.
OR!
You don't even have to pass a law at all! You could just not deport these people! Who's perpetuating those deportations, my dude? Who could stop those deportations right now if he wanted to protect Dreamers? Schumer? Ryan? You really think ICE, the DoHS, and Nielson are deporting these people against Trump's will?
Someone is rejecting an unbelievable amount of evidence to maintain precious ideological purity and can forget about having a second Cocoa Puff if it keeps up.
.
Really?
Like, super really? I've never encountered anyone who has done what you're describing, so my initial reaction to that, were I an employer, would be to fire someone. I would not want to work with a person who needed to do that because, to me, that seems like they really don't care. In trying to give that behavior the benefit of the doubt, however, is it more common than my anecdata would make it seem? Am I being intolerant?Quote:
If I’m meeting with a team I’m leading, or any other such setting, any my primary purpose is to receive feedback, sometimes I’ll jot in the margin “you’re here to listen.” The temptation to spout off solutions can be quite strong, and the reminder helps.
Good old Technically Correct.™Quote:
I never mentioned Obama.
You're missing the point, though. The core issue with SSJN's post is that, like a bunch of nerds playing D&D, jerks are finding loopholes (being bullied by sob stories? seriously?) and exploiting them. It's a major problem with America.
You're very polite. We both know it is mainly upper aged white middle class that behave that way. Someone asks them to be less of.a dick or share a bus seat and lord oh lord they're a victim because in America, being inconvenienced is the worst thing ever.
Not that minorities are all blessed angels. They have plenty of members that have never felt hardship that will drag the experience of their elders through the mud for gain.
I like analogies as much as the next guy, but uh...
Quite a bit of difference between being a child and being a "victim" of a murderer in your school and being a "victim" of being asked to move on the bus...? Maybe bus etiquette isn't compatible with what we're talking about here?
I think it's a great idea to have a list on hand to remind me of basic things in meetings, like
-allow people to finish talking before I start talking
-keep pants on
-don't spit on anyone
-speak english
-focus on work
It's a great productivity aid.
Im saying the offended old white guy is the one like the one being asked to move on the bus. Not the children.
Someone's asking him to make small changes or just consider them and just the act of thinking about it makes him feel bad and thus a victim in his eyes.
