Well it's definitely a risk. But voting booths are gameable too. Anything hacked in 8 minutes had wide open endpoints to begin with.
Those are easily found and plugged. I'm unsure how realistic these replicas are.
There's really nothing to worry about.
I'm looking forward to the election of President Weedlord Hitlerboner.
I floated it somewhere, and now ARBM is being passive aggressive like only a white college professor hopeful can.
I was fairly certain it was floated here. There are two active threads in Sound Off and I evidently lost a coin flip. I'd be happy to be more outwardly aggressive in a more topical thread.
I guess I'm more easily convinced that if the Bank of Americas can't keep their digital shit together, then there's little hope that the Florida's 3rd Congressional Districts can.
Hopefully any voting software won't be written in fucking fortran.
I think now is a great opportunity to employ people like that kiddie hacker as white hats so we can develop voting software that would be more secure, but I'm sure our tax dollars are going to something so much more important and amazing, like F-12s or whatever.
What if we amended the constitution so that whoever secured 65% of the vote or 350 EC votes, became POTUS, and if that wasn’t 1 person, then it would be the top 2 (or however many needed to reach 350)?
Executive orders, vetos, would all require a simple majority or signatures between the POTUS(s).
You might as well just have a parliament.
Actually, ranked choice voting doesn't sound bad. If all candidates are below 50% of the vote, the lowest one is eliminated & their votes redistributed to the respective voters' 2nd choice.
I'm in if they have to wear little costumes.
SPACE FORCE
This doesn't solve the problems of voter apathy and difficulty of voting.
Q for the libs: What if voter turnout spikes & Democrats win a bunch as a result of Trump? I don't believe that's going to happen, but what if it did? What if, as a result of anti-Trump motivation, we get that blue wave everyone is crowing about? Wouldn't he have made America great again, even if it was unwitting?
No. A democrat in office is not the sort of "achievement" that outweighs the damage done even in two years of Trump.
Our politics have gone full Pro Wrestling and they're never going back. Everything is going to be dumb from here on out. It's going to be Flava Flav vs Hulk Hogan until this country just implodes.
You say that as if it hasn't already imploded.
I mean, the arab world discarded math and science at some point
despite previously being a cradle
I think we'll be fine long term.
This is exactly whats going to happen. It may not be 2020, but it could be 2024 or so. People will throw up their hands, as they did circa ~1992 after a reign of ding dong republicans, and elect a democrat who turns out to be fairly moderate and the system will cycle forever.
You know, lately I have been having a feeling that people are getting upset, and actually leaving their homes to do something. Like some of the children aren't as shitty as the others. And those ones are ready to help.
My bonghit sense is tingling.
lol
it's so awful
having a great day tho
I disagree. Ultimately nothing happens until people become consistently uncomfortable.
And Americans are the most comforted people on earth, ever.
There will be no revolution because there are new episodes of walking dead coming out and new flavors of oreo on the horizon.
I don't know. The new crops of animation people are getting much more involved in our union in a way I am not, and lots of other people before me were not. I feel like it is related to the current cultural moment we are experiencing.
These are some of the most comforted people in LA.
From the way you two talk, animation is about like sharecropping
I think I might feel like I achieved my dream and now I'm bored. That's kinda terrible, but I think I might need a new dream at the very least. I might not even need to achieve this one.
lotsa mights up there
Duck if I know. Wasabi flavor?

That's the dumbass that told Lebron to shut up and dribble? Since then he paid for a school with a promise of college tuition and the Secretary of Education has done jack shit.
Meanwhile Trump is in West Virginia touting Clean Coal. I wonder if he's going to announce a Black Lung day.
Wasn't Obama on the Clean Coal thing? There's gold in them hills, and it ain't the coal.
Yeah, unfortunately, I think there was some of that, but he was (correctly) pushing for alternative energy sources throughout most of his presidency.
We are going full steam backwards now.
I wish we’d go back to steam. I’d wear the fuck out of a top hat.
Manafort convicted on eight felony accounts, Michael Cohen pleads guilty and implicates Trump in a cover up specifically to influence the election, and White House Counsel reveals he did 30 hours of interviews with Mueller's team.
The noose just got REALLY tight.
Dear anyone who supports Alex Jones & Trump and whatever:
The story about the girl from Iowa is a false flag. Everyone involved is a paid crisis actor. The story was invented by the Trump Administration to justify building the wall.
Love,
Calliander
Coal can be clean...if you pay the money. Percipataters (sp?) will pull the ash out of the smoke. And the ash can be made into brick.
But you know, spending money, doing things right, etc. Not very popular these days.
Can you imagine how bad it would be if he wore a tan suit tho
Yep.
If the us was a person it would be a slope ring crying 14 year old in the fetal position screaming "change is hard"
Slobbering
Thanks phone.
Nope. Maybe you can research some of the stuff that actually occurred when he was in office.
Thanks
The question was did he support clean coal. The answer is yes he did. I liked Obama, for the record.
Did you like him or like-like him?
Or like him, like him?
What do you like most about him? The extra-judicial killings, or helping to bring slavery back to North Africa?
Or like, like him?
I liked his many jokes. He could have written for Robobo.
Never heard of it, was it good?
I refreshed like five times before this went away and it showed something about Ohio. Think they got hacked? Or is that like a standby and someone accidentally fired it off?
Attachment 81390
EDIT: Realized that's the one I uploaded to Facebook chat w/my buddies and it looks super fake but here's the image from my phone: Attachment 81391
EDIT 2: Maybe they have it in the hopper, ready to go, and someone accidentally hit "go" like that Hawaii emergency thing or that episode of 30 Rock where they film the benefit for all possible disasters?
Just CNN going all in with their bullshit.
I keep clicking "I accept" and nothing happens to confirm this story, am I doing it wrong?
I love how that message takes up most of my tiny iPhone screen. hehe.
What a wonderful day that would be. World holiday?
Nah, that would be a shame.
That addle-brained fuckstick deserves nothing less than to hit every branch as he falls out of his tree, karmically forced to maintain consciousness for the whole ordeal and throughout the surgery afterwards.
Scandal of the day: Trump pulled an Ahnold and knocked up his housekeeper.
It's interesting that this comes as a result of AMI ending their catch and kill contract on the story, and David Pecker's immunity agreement. Supposedly they have a vault full of stories they've bought the exclusive rights to but never published to protect Trump. Could be more to come, or maybe a warning shot over the bough.

cannot even color the flag right, yet wants to rip on blacks for kneeling for the anthem (which he doesn't know either)
Just can't help but try for Russian colors, can the motherfucker? Even there, he fails.
He's clearly a puppet of the Croatians.
Damn whoever shopped that didn't even put effort into it.
Social media posts are unkind to the color red, too.
It's a shitty 'shop job, but it wouldn't be far-fetched to see that headline on mainstream news.
Yoshi?Quote:
Even as cable news networks debate reports of the existence of a recording of President Donald Trump using a racial slur, a new poll from Rasmussen Reports says that the president's approval rating among African-Americans is at 36 percent, nearly double his support at this time last year.
"Today's @realDonaldTrump approval ratings among black voters: 36%," Rasmussen said in a tweet. "This day last year: 19%."
That is a staggeringly high number for a man who only won 8 percent of the African-American vote in 2016.
The power of Kanye.
I'd be curious about the breakdown of those numbers, since Rasmussen usually skews right on issues. I think their phone bank is wacky or something, haha.
Damn this is brutal.
Slow news lately. *yawn*
I'm going to come out and say it. I think the rat is Pence, and I think this letter is strategic positioning, not public service announcement.
Despite the strategic use of the word "resistence," I think this is not the work of someone with the goal of opposing Trump as much as that of a man trying to build a path to legitimacy in the event of a Trump impeachment or resignation.
1) The author not only champions the "achievements" of the administration, but takes credit for them. "All the good things you conservatives liked about Trump? They were ME all along!"
2) The author is willfully vague about the specifics of Trump's worrying behavior, because the intent here is to cover all bases. Whatever scandal ends up being the one to take down Trump, we can imagine that was one of these things.
3) Pence, while always maintaining broad support for the President, has always managed to keep himself out of any scandal and controversy. He's the one guy who seems utterly absent from the various tell-all books to this point, who seems to just be hanging back and waiting and keeping out of trouble as a matter of strategy.
4) Pence, as the one who will inherit the Presidency in the event of an impeachment or resignation, faces a crisis of legitimacy just by virtue of being a part of this administration. More than anyone else, he needs to find away to distance himself from whatever shit Trump goes down for, and this gives him a path, particularly among conservatives.
5) Pence is the one guy in the administration that Trump can't fire, so if this does get aired out somehow, it doesn't really matter that much.
HuffPo has also pointed out the conspicuous use of a common Pence-ism, "lodestar" as a tell, also.
Government seems to be witholding a lot of damning stuff on Kavanaugh. Must be one of those family values that the rural folk champion
When Did NPR become such trash? Here they are data mining for women Trump voters and the only specific question they ask is not Trump’s strict immigration policy, tarriffs, or tax cuts, but wether or not he had an affair.
That’s all women care about NPR?

I am 200000000% sure it's not Pence. Like, I am utterly not convinced this dude is some sort of Putin-level genius playing 4D chess with the press. I think it's some middle tier individual who likes to hear her/himself talk and is greatly inflating his/her position and importance. I'm not sure how complicit the NYT is in this, but whatever.
The "lodestar" thing is many people's smoking gun, but in every workplace you get those weird terms that one person uses and then they catch on throughout the office. You have to use it in order to communicate with the person in seniority who uses it, that's why we use dumb ass terms like "paradigm" and "synergy."
I would love if it was Melania, lol. But it's totally not.
It's reminiscent of how some Nazi officials started distancing themselves as Hitler weakened.
EDIT: Also, no way it's Pence. It's probably Mattis.
All this showing off is going to amount to nothing. He'll get confirmed.
That said, Cory Booker responding to the threat of expulsion from the Senate with, "Bring it. Bring the charges." is pretty badass, even if it's blatant early campaigning.
I don't think this is all that sophisticated, and seems consistent with a general pattern of "waiting at the ready." When one is VP to a guy like Trump, it doesn't take a very sophisticated plan. Just sit, wait, don't get any shit on you, and claim you had nothing to do with it. This is really more of an alibi than a manipulation.
I think it's going to come out eventually, and if this is true, it's going to be hugely damaging to the NYT. Overstating the authority of an anonymous source does happen in journalism but on a matter of this importance, I find it hard to believe they'd try to fudge it.Quote:

That's fine, but I'd want to go down on the right side of history. So kudos to Booker.Quote:

As far as Kavanaugh...it'd be a real shame if he got some really bad cancr or something and couldn't be on the bench long. A real shame.
It's going to be someone really boring, like the under-secretary of the interior or something. Somebody nobody gives a shit about.
My money's on the Groom of the Stool.
I think its Linda McMahon. She's due for a face turn.
Since grabbing a tiny bit of mental health, I've entirely stopped listening to NPR, and I'm better for it.
What if next season, each of us here on TNL selects a politician to snoop on. So like, maybe I've got eyes on Colin Powell, or whoever the fuck. So I'm following the twitter, reading his wiki, got google alerts on for his name, etc. Wild Stuff. Meanwhile, each one of you fine people is doing the same for some other bizarre reptilian overlord.
I think we could learn and keep track of quite a bit if we use our angst to gather information in a very focused way.
no
I’ve been listening to Bong Jock. It’s wierd; in the Musk interview, he sounded like a total jack ass. In today’s Tulsi interview, he interviewed a genuine, deliberate person and came off with thoughtful interesting dialogue. What’s the deal, Bong Jock?

It's called "I am a generic white man who mimics the personality of the people around me in order to be accepted and popular."
Well that’s colonialism, I guess. It’s why Jews and Europeans have been so successful integrating into other societies, because they communicate with others on their level. It’s probably also why they receive such backlash, because it’s perceived as disingenuous.
Wow, I hope that was a troll comment.
"I am the liquor" except liquor is /POL.
You may not like him, but saying Rogan is "a generic white man" is horseshit.
what about "trash"?
He's just like every other bow-hunting comedian who kicks like a mule.
His podcast is fun to listen to. His guests are always such a great array of personalities that its entertaining.
