I think the biggest new news is that this will use Battle.net on PC.
Best news was Guided clan stuff....I'll actually get to complete more raids and sich.
Hellgate: London is finally getting a sequel?
I passed on Destiny 1 day 1, however I am pretty sure I will be on this from the start. I never was able to do any of the raids or end game content in 1. Maybe with the new system I can actually get in on it.
I'm here playing it. It sure feels like Destiny, but I wasn't really into the first game, so the little changes are harder for me to appreciate.
But yeah, definitely is Destiny.
Hopefully when you play with friends that are levels past you this time around you can actually be useful.
It worked with the new Ghost Recon. I know, apples and oranges. But still.
Have played to endgame on both platforms, I need to make a decision off the get go for this one and it really depends on where my crew goes.
Bleh.
I am crewless.
Sry
They made it an easier decision. PC is launching several weeks later.
That made my decision easier too. Pass again.
Disappointed that console versions will run at 30. I hope it's better than the first. That was such a letdown.
Well, that was disappointing.
This looks so underwhelming and why would anyone trust Bungie on the amount of content they're talking about?
That's what Battlefront II will be for.
I'm just concerned about the amount of initial content. Hopefully they learned from the first.
I have no doubt that I could do the campaign and get myself into dungeons and raids for a while, but Destiny was constructed in such a way that you wasted a TON of fucking time doing the exact same shit, on the exact same day of the week, every week, to maybe never even get the shit you wanted. The I got Ghallahorn and it was like, why even fucking bother anymore?
The game stopped being fun just from playing it after the first playthrough of single player. I'm not interested in another gear grind, so unless they show something more in terms of progression, I'm fucking out.
You sound angry. Destiny has done you wrong.
I couldn't get into Battlefront's on foot stuff (needs squads ala Battlefield). Loved Starfighter mode and put stupid time into that though.
I'll be day one on Destiny 2, but on the Xbox since my friends won't buy PS4s.
It's interesting to me that the PS4 Pro will run the game at 4K/30fps. That raises several questions:
- Did Sony mandate that the Pro shouldn't get a frame rate advantage?
- Did Bungie just decide to prioritize resolution over frame rate?
- Is the 4K native?
If I had to guess, I'd say yes, no, and no.
Sony mandated from the start that the Pro can't be used to increase the framerate above what the regular one is capped at. So if the regular is capped at 30 the Pro needs to be as well. This is true of every game.
I am starting to remember why my Pro is almost exclusively an MLB.tv box.
i like the system that helps friendless introverts like me.i like the more freedom of load outs. i dont like you still have to go into the menu to switch out weapons. give me a weapon wheel yo.
I can't find the tweet right now, but someone in the last day or so from MS said they are going to allow the developer to use the Scorpio how they please and are not mandating that it has to have the same FPS as XB1/S, even for competitive. I'm sure we will find out more at E3.
Bungie confirms that this will run at 30fps on all consoles, including the X.
You must be giddy.
Not at all. There was never any doubt in my mind from the time the specs were announced.
If you have a GeForce card check your GeForce experience, I had a beta key for the PC Beta waiting for me.
No dice. I can't decide if I'm disappointed or relieved.
I can get 60 locked with minor concessions on my 660, there is NO excuse that this is 30 on consoles.
Even less incentive to buy this, I guess.
Oh well, more time to play Overwatch and Lawbreakers.
LawBreakers? I guess someone has to.
I really hate to say this sort of thing because I know making games is hard but Destiny 2 looks just completely half-assed in so many ways. I have seen nothing, even now, that couldn't be part of an expansion and it seems less substantial than something like Burning Crusade.
I gotta bump up the bitrate on my captures, but yeah. This is Destiny on PC.

Ran out of Today so guess I'll finally be able to play Destiny tomorrow. FPS-on-console and I don't mix so I've never gotten to check it out before now.
Who is playing where? I’ll be on Xbox One.
Peecee
I'll slum it with you on XB1.
I should be able to hop on as soon as the digital game unlocks Monday night, or at least shortly after.
lmao, Wednesday Morning at Midnight.
PS4, but I'm waiting to see how much content there is in the initial game. The first one was way too slim.
im going to wait until the pc version drops. that drop from 60 to 30 in the cutscenes was annoying as hell.
Then he could update more pixels at 30fps.
I look forward to playing with everyone. Though it won't be for 5 or 6 days after everyone has started so I will be doing no damage and complaining the entire time.
They really knocked it out of the park with this port.
It sure looks that way. With BBY adding a $10 cert, effectively making it $38, I might bite.
They're also giving it away free when you buy certain GTX 1080 cards. Shame those cards are so much more expensive than the 1060 or I'd bite.
Why the hell is this coming out Wednesday/Tuesday night as opposed to Tuesday/Monday night???
Ok, who else here besides me is foolishly buying Rockstar energy drinks for what is most likely garbage loot? I seem to only be able to find Titan and Warlock cans. Anyone have any extra Hunter can tabs?
Just chain gulp the drinks. The loot will cease to matter.
The weapon balance on PC is going to be so goofy. Like, there are multiple systems at play with the auto-aim that can profoundly affect the performance and personality of a gun, and none of that will really matter there. Since the mechanics and gunplay are Destiny's strongest asset, seems weird to play it where that bit is being farmed out (pc port balance). Seems like a world of pistols, high impact scouts, and snipers.
I'd love sniping being more viable.
I caved and got this digital. The introductory before the EDZ is pretty great. Guns feel very different.
So wait, should I get in on this train this time or not since I won't be able to run it on my old pc?
If you need a clan (They go across platforms, and we can all work towards clan perks) here is the RF Clan.

Once you get to the farm, Hawthorne should have a clan banner for you.
Is this confirmed for One X support yet? Bungee has played coy and I don’t like it.
Yes, it was confirmed at E3 to be 4K, 30fps.
They're not going to do anything for 1080p either?
Played enough to open up multiplayer. Story seems much better and the couple missions I played were really cool looking. Played 2 matches of crucible and was top scorer but my team still lost both matches.
So far I like it, definitely doesn't feel like DLC from the first game.
Destiny 2 is far, FAR better designed than its predecessor. Story progression actually feels natural now instead of requiring seven UI interactions and two loading screens between events. Also, there actually is a story.
Locations now have a little more personality. You're no longer just going to empty Mars with 12 differently named, but very similar environments. Instead, every environment I've seen so far is more like the Dreadnought. Lots of little unique areas and nuances. The Ghost scannable items are a nice touch and help flesh out the world. Glad Bungie brought them back from the later D1 expansions.
The weapon stats and perks are both streamlined AND more expansive. They all FEEL better. Pay attention to how well the controller vibration works with the sound effects. That's never stood out to me in a game before, but here it means a different experience every time I procure a new pistola.
I'm going to save so much money avoiding drinks with coworkers to go home and play this.
Played this for several hours. Basically what Moogle and Chao said. A noticeable upgrade in just about every way from Destiny 1 (although even Destiny 1 was improved tremendously by the time Taken King and Rise of Iron hit). This time we get what seems to be a real story, big maps, tons of things to do, and (seemingly) a better inventory/loot upgrade system. To me, it really doesn't even matter all that much -- Destiny's gun play was always remarkably good, and Destiny 2's weaps -- looks, handling, vibration, sound...everything -- are so damned tasty. Also: co-op with a buddy or two is still a lot of fun.
I like the way you can tell your own tale in this. I was exploring the EDZ and came across Legionnaires that were over double my level. I decided to see how I could do, and managed to squeak out a victory against impossible enemies after 30-45 minutes. Really having a lot of fun with this.
why did the PC one have to come out so late
this is stupid shit
Pee Cee.
It might work out well for me. I have a preorder in, but I'm hoping that the console honeymoon period ends before the PC version releases so I can make a better decision about keeping it.
Coming later barely bothers me anymore, as I don't even consider the console versions as an alternative. The game might as well not exist during that delay window.
Just think of it as an evolution. Only apes are currently available.
I'm waiting too. I have more people on PC to play with and the game runs like a dream. 30 FPS can go DIAF.
You know what's pretty great?
Playing this on a PS4.
Not according to this guy:
Keep playing though. I want to hear what you think after some significant number of hours.Quote:
What I’m really trying to say here is that if you have any plans to play Destiny 2 on PS4 or Xbox One, it would probably be in your best interest to avoid the PC version, lest you realize just how amazing the Destiny experience can truly be.
I'm happy with my hamburger.
I’m tempted to yell NERD at that guy like Homer in college.
You know what, after seeing this argument play out ad infinitum over the length of this website and its various incarnations (17+ years), I can safely say that I do not give a fuck about playing a game like Destiny 2 on PC.
All of my IRL friends play this game on PS4. So guess what? I'm playing this on PS4.
In another ten years, when the next earth shattering multiplayer experience arrives, and Destiny 2 is long forgotten, the only relevant question will be: where can I play it with my friends?
That’s the real thing tbh. If it were single player, Yoshi’s argument stands.
Clans are actually working! Talk to the chick in the farm and get your banners so we can level up and get perks (both platforms do indeed work towards the same shared goals).
Playing with Truck on Xbox and having a blast. I got my 2nd subclass quest after my first heroic public event. Then today I got the 3rd subclass quest after my overall 2nd heroic public event.
This game is legit. All the people and reviews calling these a mere expansion or Destiny 1.5 are just bring pretentious a-holes. I’m having an absolute blast with it.
Are they correct pretentious a-holes, though?
Lots of expansions improve on the base game. Heck one came out this week alongside Destiny 2 (for XCOM 2).
This isn't DLC. It's many genuine QOL improvements, a new story, and a whole graphic overhaul. Exactly what you'd want from Destiny 2.
Can you be in more than one clan?
Wow, when you hit Lv 20, Enderverse shits out a bunch of presents at you. Am I max level now suddenly, like in D1?

It's good to see that Bungie did the 1080p on PS4 Pro right by downsampling the 4K output.
