Unlike Wii and Wii U though they all play the same games.
I expected it to be called Scorpio just because it's been referred to as such for so long.
I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse though from a confusion standpoint.
I think these high end boxes are targeted to "knowledgeable" people though.
I think the name is fine.
BTW, I am excited for this conference, I think this is maybe MS' last chance (or last desire) to do something great in this space. I think if it sucks, you can almost write off MS as being a major player in gaming, PC or otherwise.
That's a great point. Ignoramus X isn't going to opt for the box that's $200 more.
I'm not all that excited, because I will never own an O(ne)SS(corpio), and I don't like UDP or the Windows Store and would rather not support either. However, I do agree with your point about the importance. Microsoft is simultaneously fighting two behemoths in the PS4 and Steam. They need a LOT of content that either won't come to either of those or is somehow better to compete. I think what Mog wants, the 1080p, 60fps, is key. If this is marketed as a native 4K, 30fps box, no one cares.Quote:

I'm not really just talking about console exclusives (or maybe not even the main point). They can still carve out some inroads on the PC side. But it will take more than token initiatives.
I don't really expect there to be much in the way of "this can only play on the box" or even "this can only play on the W Store", but we'll see.
There is not much they can do with Windows beyond what they already have. I treat the Windows Store like Origin. I will buy their games on it and nothing else. I actually like it less than Origin though, because at least EA uses x86 and not that UDP shit. I appreciate Play Anywhere (I think that's what it's called) for a subset of first party games but frankly hope they don't get any more creative.
almost time for round 2
