Secondly, its just horribly sad what going on in other countries with the disease. If this helps create awareness, by all means, do it. We also need is a Palestenian(sp?) muppet and Isreali(and sp?) muppet that are good friends.

And I guess increasing awareness is an OK argument...except that the average age of the children in South Africa who watch the program is three. I doubt they'd understand it totally. But, I'm not psychoanalist, so I guess I can't really say.

Well kids are being born with AIDS there all the time. Imagine how scarey it must be for them. If it takes a muppet to help them be less scared, or to help thier piers understand that AIDS isnt going to hurt them unless they contract it(and that they cant contract it be playing and being friends), then life might be a little easier for them.

Good God! On one hand, the whole idea behind an HIV-infected muppet on a kiddie show is ridiculous, but on the other hand, but the fact that they felt they need to do this says alot about the AIDS epidemic in South Africa.
