Is Kaepernick signed yet?
There was a time I would be looking forward to the preseason. I just don't care anymore.
Watching preseason football is only slightly less horrible than watching the draft.
Glad I'm not the only one. College signing day is also some absurd shit.
Zeke suspended SIX games, wow
Will probably appeal down to two I bet
He should appeal to zero. I hate the Cowboys but even I can see how ridiculous this is. He wasn’t charged with anything. How can he be suspended? Maybe there’s more to it than we know?
Well yeah, if he wasn't a football player he'd be in jail by now.
Didn't Rothlesberger get 6 games but reduced to 4?
The league investigators claim that they were able to secure data from her phone that proved the pictures of the injuries were indeed around the time of the incident. Supposedly, the Columbus police did not have access to those files.
The whole thing should have been thrown out, after a friend of hers confessed that Elliott never dragged the accuser from her car and beat her. She was caught lying at that time and even told a friend that she was going to get him for going out with another girl.

Yes, Zeke is an idiot that is asking to get in trouble with the league over his questionable antics, but this case should not be one of them.
I hope that's the only article ESPN does on it.
This comment is gold "About the only guys in the Jets organization actually doing his job."
I flipped by the game and noticed that the stadium was practically empty. It looked like a USFL game was going on.
Roger Goodell is going to be signed on for another 5 years. I can't believe that he was paid over $30 million last year, for his ass-clown services as the commissioner.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/21/s...-contract.html
Owners love him because $$
Yea I don't get it. A spoiled pineapple could bring in revenue. Plus his ideas for growth are just splitting out packages to sell. Thursday night football is a shitshow. London is in the same category as fetch right now.
They are making $$ hands over fist, I guess they don't want to fix what isn't broken.
Yea but that would imply Goodell is doing something to bring in that revenue. And with the amount they've paid him (~$215M I think) that would imply he is doing something incredibly unique and special that only he can do. Like, literally Steve Jobs level.
I don't disagree, but the owners clearly like him because money is pouring in. They rather keep him than bring in another guy. Whatever, he is a clown and I hope the players are willing to strike for an extended period of time to change the CBA and god forbid guaranteed contracts.
Again, there is no link between the money pouring in and Roger Goodell. Anyone could have done that. If the owners like him it is for different reasons.
Guaranteed contracts are not coming to the NFL. The discussions will likely be over percentage (as it always is), player discipline, and preseason games. Players have shown little ability to handle not getting those game checks and I don't expect that to change.
It is too bad, players are too dumb/fragmented to do what is best for them long term.
I disagree with the money part, owners really only give a shit about that one thing. They clearly doesn't care that he has no credibility and no rational fans like him. The way he mishandled Rice/Brady are publicity nightmares, yet he gets a raise and a new contract. People will pay to watch these shitty games, and he gets rewarded.
Bob Kraft certainly has no love for him.
Jerry Jones was the catalyst for marketing the NFL and challenging the league over how and when it was shared revenue. That's why he is in the HOF.
Bob Kraft supports Goddell, don't let his pandering to fan BS cloud you.
Bob Kraft does what is good for the NFL. He was the one that stepped in and helped the NFL negotiate the collective bargaining agreement, when Goodell and company couldn't get it done. I think that it is more Goodell kissing Kraft's ass that gives the impression of Kraft being good friends with him.
I don't think Kraft is a fan of Goodell anymore but it's a business relationship in the end. You don't have to love the people you work with. Would Bob go to bat for Rog if something went down? Probably less likely than it was a few years ago.
So the Chargers just fired an equipment manager who had worked with the team for 38 years, who had just moved up with the team to LA, and they waited until training camp had ended.
It's getting hard to like this league. It's bad enough when they do it to players, but this is just bullshit.
What was the reason to fire the guy? Was he deflating footballs?
Heh. No reason given.

Keep reading. You'll know it when you see it.
Heh.
Edelman's out for the season with an ACL tear. I REALLY hope Gronk can stay healthy. Hogan and Amendola are going to have their hands full.
But the Pats are always at their best when they have that slot guy, see Wes Welker. I'm sure they'll figure it out. Nobody saw Edelman coming.
There's no way they're as good without Edelman. The WR corps is much better this year, so hopefully they can fill the gap. I have faith in their ability to step up. Gronk will be more relevant this year though.
We all know how the Pats work.. they don't need star players. They could probably make Tevon Austin look like he is worth what he is getting paid.
They still have Amendola, and will probably sign some bum from the Bills and make him an All Pro.
Stafford highest pay player ever @27mm/yr.:fail:
I see Stafford at least twice a year. He’s pretty good. Not 27mil good though. Rodgers next contract should be retarded now. Great......
He took the my team is going to suck salary.
The Houston Texans decided to cancel their game against Dallas, so they could head home. I don't think that heading back to Houston was a great idea.

This Ezekiel Elliott nonsense is the NFL's Ilya Kovalchuk decision for me. I have kept quiet about it, but as facts and allegations emerge, it's time for me to stop supporting this bullshit league. When you pair it with the uncapped capped year penalties, it's an even easier decision. The only positive thing about it at all is that Elliott's legal team beat the league to the lawsuit, removing the advantage the league had against Brady. The worst case is that this completely embarrasses the league and Goodell personally and publicly exposes the "personal conduct policy" for the politically correct witch hunt that it is. I'll take it on my way out the door.
edit: I can't wait to hear how Goodell respected and protected women by ignoring the advice of his own female lead investigator, who recommended no punishment, because she didn't believe the "victim."
If someone told me one of the quarterbacks tonight would have 2 touchdown strikes of over 75 yards, I wouldn't have thought it was Alex Smith.
I knew he was a game manager type QB but that graphic showing he only has one more 300 yard passing game than Trent Dilfer did kinda shocks me. But also doesn't.
edit: that shot of Brady on the bench drinking water. "Yup....5 rings and a supermodel. what you fuckers got..."
The Chiefs are winning the war of attrition.
on to New Orleans
chefs cooking up an upset special
It could get ugly for New England if Hightower has a serious injury.
Mahoney will think of something.
Yeah, but it could take weeks to get someone up to pace.
That was a nice kick to the balls of Pats fans. Thanks Chiefs!
It's only the first game, Pats often start out slow. Oh, and each of the last three times Brady's lost a home opener, the Pats have won the SB.

Goodell opened up a pandora's box he won't be able to close.
The problem with Goodell's decision was that they didn't even bother to listen to the person from the NFL investigation team that interviewed Tiffany Thompson. Like the Ohio investigation team, the interviewer of Thompson felt that her story was full of holes that led her to believe that Thompson wasn't being truthful in her testimony. Goodell made a decision that was not based on actual findings from the investigation team.
His handling of Deflate Gate and Bounty Gate were a joke.
Marshawn Lynch still putting in work
beast mode is best mode
When did Andy Dalton turn into Brock Osweiler?
Colts might be the worst team in the NFL. I didn’t know Frank Gore was still alive. I wouldn’t be surprised if Luck doesn’t take a snap all year and Pagano gets fired after a 2-14 campaign.
Seattles offense has been woeful but they've still gotten jobbed big time in this game, a phantom overturn in a TD, starting CB ejected in the first, and a missed obvious holding setting up 1st and goal at the 1
Seattle fan complaining about penalties vs Green Bay. Lol! You shut your face! Both teams O lines are horrendous.
I like Fox's new onscreen graphics.
That was a bullshit call that took 7 pts off the board. Completely ridiculous these clowns are officiating these games. Go to replay booth since it is a scoring play and should be reviewed.
That was a bullshit call. The block in the back was a light tap. The ejection was also unnecessary.
There’s WAAAAAY too many bullshit calls. Even as I type this theres a weak ass pass interference call. Let them play and call the flagrant stuff.
Your team still would have won. Still, that ejection was total BS.
The Giants are getting dominated.
Eli Manning looks lost without Odell Beckham. Why am I not surprised.
Eli is garbage.
What a Beasly catch!
I'm with you. He throws too many wounded duck passes that get bailed out by excellent receiver play. The Odell circus catch is a prime example of that.
I was laughing inside when I heard everyone saying that the Giants will win the division, because of all of the receiver talent that they have this year. Did they not consider that the Giants' offensive line is horrible, and the team may have won 11 games last year, but that had a lot to do with their defense keeping them in those games?
Anyone who watched the Giants last year knew that offense was ODB taking a slant route for 70 yards and that’s about it. The run defense was very good but they’re a prime candidate for regression.
I picked the Eagles to win the division sorry mate.
Its not that nobody listens, we all agree he's garbage. He's just also really fucking lucky at times.
I'm not sold on the Eagles. They have a pretty solid defense, but they didn't do enough to keep the Redskins from keeping the game interesting. The Redskins are a 7-9 team at best.
The Cowboys are the best NFC team. Goddamn that hurts to admit.
I don't know if I would definitively say that. Seattle's fatal flaw is that they can't block anyone, but I can't imagine they'd be as bad as they were yesterday, Week 1 and all, in a league where defenses probably have an advantage early in the season. And in fairness to GB, on paper this is the best Seattle defense they've ever had. There is almost no weakness.
It's too soon to know if, say, GB's defense or Dallas' is as good as they looked. My guess is Dallas no GB maybe.
And to give credit to Green Bay’s D they actually were able to pressure the QB with only 4 on the line. Which hasn’t happened in forever. Maybe they won’t be what kills the Packers this year. That O line is super new though. They better get it together fast.
Sam Bradford looks great, albeit it's against a new look Saints D.
The Saints stink.
Dallas has 5 defensive players that are suspended. The front 4 that played last night will be improved once those players return. It's
They'll also play functional offenses though.
Marinelli is a hell of a DC, but yea, week 1, too soon to know anything.
what is this lady voice coming out of my tv?!?

Har! Har!
I was posting from my phone. I'm driving all over Oklahoma to calibrate scales for Aldi grocery stores. I just checked into my room in Norman. I'm not dragging my laptop out. ;)
<3 Aldi
So I signed up for NFL Game Pass for the all 22 footage. It's pretty rad.
DeShaun Watson stinks. I'd still rather see him on the field than Tom Savage.
If only Houston has a halfway decent QB, they could be going to the SB.
Matt Schaub could take Houston to a Super Bowl. Maybe even Kap.
I think DeShaun could become that QB, no joke.
I loved Watt murdering that guy at the end of the game last night.
