So this was absolutely amazing, easily the best animated movie this year. I got a good Speed Racer feeling from it to, with every frame feeling like it's packed with information. Anyone else seen this yet?

OH MY GOD.
Great film, and visually it was super-impressive. Really enjoyed it.
Yeah, we saw it last night. I think it's the best Spider-Man movie yet.
There isn't a better superhero movie, the bar is set.
This was very well done! The writing was on point, the jokes hit the right spot, and the animation was great. I was pleasantly surprised.
I'm sure the dust will settle and you'll all decide it isn't the best thing ever three months from now...but it was very good. I enjoyed every second of the movie.
Its probably one of the best Peter Parkers on film.
I hope studios take note of the success of this, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dead pool, etc and learn that letting fans of the material do interpretations produces the best overall film. Adhering to strongly, and/or handing it to people that don't care about the source material produces garbage. Letting someone that loves it do their version seems to provide the most home runs.
Seen it twice, it's still the best.
Aquaman is about to hit 1B and I didn't even know it was out.
They're all in the 600 to 700 million dollar range. Even Suicide Squad, somehow.
I maintain that Spider-verse is the best one of these that's ever been made, but it's not setting the world on fire.
Spiderverse is the best of these but, before I heard about how good it was, I thought it was basically a straight-to-DVD animation that somehow got big-screen release. I doubt I'm the only one who looked at it and thought along those lines, which probably accounts for a good amount of its box office being so far below Deadpool/Aquaman/Ant-Man live-action hero movie.
Being all CG, and not being aimed at 5 year old girls, probably hurt it.
Honestly? If it was all-CG like a Pixar/Dreamworks movie I think it would have done better. It wouldn't have looked anywhere near as great, sacrificing the comicbook style, but I'm willing to bet audiences would have given it more of a chance.
This movie was terrific. My favourite movie this entire year. I love how they seamlessly blended the visuals of so many styles. The end battle was particularly wonderful and collage-like. I'd love to see this movie do well. I bet they'd do a universe like the MCU with it. I mean they even acknowledged the Raimi spider movies too. The comedy was so genuinely funny. "I have good news! We don't need the monitor!" made me lol.
I saw it in IMAX and that was the right way to experience this. Will see again. Soon.
Oh they already green lit a sequel. So who cares how much money it makes now?
Your mother.
Finally saw it. It was great. I don’t know if it’s the best comic book movie or even top 10 but it’s fun. Getting Tobey Maguire would’ve been cooler for that Spider-Man. Kinda tragic end to that story, sheesh.
I was under the impression this was going to be a straight to dvd thing also. No idea it was a Lord/Miller thing until a few days after it was out. So maybe that’s why it isn’t exploding as much as it should?
Our top tens are vastly different, I imagine.
Probably could have used more buffer space away from the season's big Disney animation flick.
It'll find a stronger audience on video/streaming.
Thank God for that!
Mogs top ten most be horrible
I said I wasn’t sure if it was a top ten or not. I’ve seen it once. Time will tell where I would place it. There’s a fuck load of comic movies.
'Why is this just the Dolph Lundgren Punisher 10 times'
I still chuckle at the post credit scene.
It's rude to point.
So this is finally out on Bluray so I picked it up and watched it. Good movie but I think maybe I saw too much hype for it. Best part about it was the sound track.
If you waited until now to see it, you weren't who it was aimed at. :D
I wasn’t blown away either, but I’ve watched it 3 times now.
I prefer that to “wow, that was exciting and I’ll never watch it again!”
Actually I was interested in watching it from day one, but my job right now limits when I can get to a theater, and the theaters nearby were themselves kinda limited. So I was forced to wait for the home release.
I thought a lot of the movie was great. It was a visual treat to watch. I could see them making a few movies about Spider-Gwen, and I'd watch em. Seeing Tobey-Man get killed like that was pretty brutal though. And I know this is basically the Ultimate Universe version of the character but was Peter B Parker supposed to be the 616 version that got dragged into the movie?
They are making sequels, from what I've heard Gwen will be a focus in the next one. Peter B Parker was supposed to be like an amalgam of comics and movie spider-men. Which is why you saw some of the bits from the different movies and such during the quick telling of his background.
I personally really dug the movie, and loved the style. I got my copy of it today and watched it again with the commentary on.
