You could be right.

But the fact that it was in a language I couldn't understand put me off of the game.

So many people say "with a faq, this game is easily playable blah blah", and maybe you will have the basic game concepts down but:

Card Fighters Clash was so much more than a card game. It had atmosphere, a wacky story, bizzaro dialouge, and just a plain crazy ass style to it. And not being able to read all the text would really just lose that for me.

That little rant applies to all import games I suppose: just because you can play thru it with a faq, doesn't mean you should (IMHO :)).

this thread needs revivin'. was gonna bring up a new one to talk about the new yu-gi-oh game on gba, but thought i'd just get this one rollin' again. this past weekend i got some more cards for yu-gi-oh and am just dyin' to dual a friend of mine. i've also been playin' more of card fighters clash this past week.

so who's got some good info on the yu-gi-oh gba game? give me some impressions and comparison to card fighters clash.

Only thing I can add is a little while back I picked up Monster Rancher Card Battle ep2 and it was pretty sweet.

I really never got into yu-gi-oh as the character designs are freaking horrible!

Card Fighters Clash is the only reason I have not sold off my NGPC. I don't even own the game, but one day I will, and that's why I am keeping the system :)

that actually looks interesting kabuki.....why didn't it come out in the states? i'd definetely play it if it were in engrish...or sumthin'.

Because Sega can be really really stupid (or profit oriented) sometimes. Just like leaving Samba 2000, Cosmic Smash, the Sakura Taisen series, and tons of other Dreamcast games in Japan, the lack of Culdcept II in the US is a crime against humanity.

Culdcept II Expansion just came out for the PS2 in Japan... maybe we'll see a US release of that one? I'd be the first one on the pre-order list.

It's only a bare-bones translation from what I remember...

I have 60+ hours in CFC2 with only a little help from the faq. If your memory isn't swiss cheese and especially if you've already played the original a bit, you'll be fine.

Oh, and I really tried to love Culdecept 2, but the fact that I can't trade all the damn useless cards I have to actually compete against the next level pisses me off too much. To win a 2 hour battle that was touch and go right to the end only to be rewared with 6 wolves and 6 weak armor cards is a little more than discouraging.

And the computer definitely cheats. Wow, it missed landing on my spaces for the sixth time in the row, even though most of the spaces are mine. -_-

Actually, he makes a good point. Its sucks getting crappy cards after a battle :)
