It sounds interesting, but my schlock alarm is going off full-tilt.
You know who the director is?
Well, Its from the director of House on the Haunted Hill and the Creature. I thought both were ok horror films, first half of the House was excellent ans scary, but then it all went down hill.
As for Fear.Com, it looks interesting and creepy. It got simular idea to Japanese film The Ring, only here its a website, that if you visit it, you will die.
There's a nice little article on Feardotcom in this Months Fangoria.
Yes, This month issue, and last month, had some nice articles about it, set visits and other information.
I will definately check it out, when it comes out, or on video in case I will miss it.
I like, not love Horror Films, but this FearDotCom sounds okay. The best Horror film I have seen is The Thing (1982).
It opens August 30th. Sooner than I thought.
i'm definitely going to go and see it that friday. like despair mentioned, the whole idea reeks of the Ring. switch a tape for a site and bada bing, you've got your movie. i'm really interested to see the similarities between the two, if any at all.
and the site isn't all that great. had it been more like what the movie is about (a porno site) then it would have been cool. the site (see sig) for the american remake of the Ring (oct. 18th) has it beat there.
It might be good. I saw the preview in Fangoria also. And so far the Ring remake looks alright but WHY does it need to be made? The original is only 5 years old. Just release the original. I had the same feeling about Vanilla Sky. Open Your Eyes is a better movie in my opinion and I just don't see the need to remake it when the original is so good and is also less than 6 years old.
Anyway...for all the people who saw the last fangoria did you see the preview for $la$her$? It sounds interesting but hopefully it won't be too schlocky cause the budget was less than shoestring. I like what the director said about it being a better concept than The Running Man because people were willing to risk their lives and willfully get on the show unlike in The Running Man where people were forcefully put in the show. Also the latest Hellraiser movie is sounding really good and so is the new director. It will definately surpass the last two Hellraisers and possibly the first or second.

bah, what a stupid fucking title to a stupid looking movie.
thats the thing. People either get them or they don't.
I for one love horror movies, especially shit ones. They are so funny.
Well it opens this Labor Day Weekend, and I believe it's the only wide release. I will see it Sat and post some impressions...
Yeah, I might go to see it next weekend, if I will have time. And definately looking forward reading your impressions Korian :)
Ok, so it was like, the WORST movie I've seen since Rollerball.
Seriously, when did Steven Dorf become a ninny? "I think there's something WEIRD going on!"
So it was bad??? Need more info :)
Yeah, it was really bad.
There were NO scary parts, and only ONE jumpy part. Even the kid that was supposed to look all creepy, just looks like it was some kid with bad makeup TRYING to be creepy. And Stephen Dorf was like, HORRIBLE. Seriously, stay away from this one.
I saw it today. I want my $6 and my 2 hours back. It was total shit. Stay away from this movie. I could tell you what I thought was wrong with this movie but it would contain spoilers.
Hey Korly: Does anyone in this city have a fucking light in their apartment? I swear even in the daytime all the fucking sets were dark. And the characters never even try to find a light switch. The room's dark? Oh well...let's leave it dark and explore it with the shittiest flashlights I've ever seen.
Horrible piece of shit movie. I was expecting something much better.
Well...at least I got to see the trailer for the Ring remake. It looks pretty good. Though I'm still pissed that they just don't bring the original over.

Naomi Watts is in it. More of Naomi Watts is NEVER a bad thing, 'Sides, you can always buy the import.
I know. I have it. But it's the same deal with Open Your Eyes. I posted this before but I'll say it again. Open Your Eyes is only 5 years old but they had to put a remake out in the US instead of just releasing the original in the theatres. Why? Probably because Tom Cruize, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz sell more tickets than Eduardo Noriega, Najwa Nimri, and...Penelope Cruz.:) I feel that Open Your Eyes is a better movie than Vanilla Sky. I think the only reason they remade it (aka copied it and didn't put much of any originality into it to top everything off...the lines throughout the movie are basically all the same as Open Your Eyes...word for word). Ring is only 5 years old also. Well...at least it doesn't look like they are cashing in on big celebrity names for the remake. Watts is one of the best actresses out there (yet most people don't know her) and also very appealing to the eyes. This remake could turn out very good (esp after seeing the trailer). I was wary at first of this remake but it's looking alright. I hope that some company releases the original and it's sequel (and prequel) in the US but I doubt that will happen. I have the import of the original Ring but I always like a R1 (or at the very least R0) disc so that everyone I know can watch the movie. They don't have regionless players.

This movie was fucking TERRIBLE! I hated it so much. It was not scary, not good, and I laughed during the entire thing.
STAY AWAY!
