I'd have to go with the American Beauty dvd cover
The 'symbology' of it is nice.
HAHA.. April Fools.. right.. right.... Cause that cover is crap...
Hmm, the pic won't even load up for me...
The friggin boards are fuckin slow again.
Or maybe its my 56k.
200% Action - 200% Arnold
I've really never given much thought to movie box art. As a general rule for box art though, I like the simple designs. Simple, to the point, and neat/well organized. Strangely enough I can't think of any good examples of movie box art I like.
nope, it's the boards, and i'm on dslQuote:

Not sure if it counts, but the ultra-cool Book of the Dead cover for the limited edition Evil Dead DVD. Nice and squishy. :)
Um...it's not the boards, since it's not being loaded off our server - simply that the file isn't compressed, so it's very large to load.

Welcome to Video Armegedon,

Anything by Drew Struzan. He's done tons of them. Otherwise, the ones for Detroit Rock City and the Flint movies (In Like Flint, Our Man Flint) stand out in my mind.
Also, I like movie poster art to be, y'know, art, or at least artsy. Not just a big headshot of the star(s). But I long for the days when most every poster was crafted by artists, rather than having people just cut and paste promo pics in Photoshop.
I especially hate when the movie poster is a great piece of art, but then they change it to a generic photo or photo collage for the video release. I refuse to get the Phantom Menace until they release one that has Struzan's poster art on it.
Struzan is good. The Star Wars DVD would be alot better with his poster on it. He's done so many it's hard to pick the best one, but his Temple of Doom poster rocked major ass. The Evil Dead SE was cool, but is more of a gimmick than true box art. Whatever movie it is, it must have a cool color scheme.
