The quality of life is on the rise it appears. I read at IGN(yes everyone hates them, I do too, but they have the story so there) that the new Card E reader is going to have older NES games cards.
Something like a pack of five for 4.95 a card..which is roughly $20 or so.
So far the first games aren't exactly that great(Excitebike and Donkey Kong Jr. and such, which isn't bad).
However, news like this captures the imagination. Imagine if you will what else could come out. Original metroid, Zelda, etc. That might not be all, older non Nintendo made games could come out.
Like Contra, Salamander, etc. The possibilities are endless. Who says it could stop there. NEC is a third party, they make games for Nintendo. Why not PC Engine card games? Bonk, Parasol Stars..Military Madness. All for a dollar a card. All portable. Right there. Like a GOOD version of the Famicom Disc System(kind of, but better).
Now I know there are a lot of people out there who hate the concept of ports. I however, like it(if they are done right), for the simple fact that older systems have this habit of you know..dying. Older games have a tendency to you know be hard to find and often times expensive because they are "rare" or "collectable". And then you have to lug out the systems, hook them up just to play ONE GAME. On GBA you're free, you're liberated. No longer oppressed by the ..er..anyway.
Now if everything in the known modern gaming world could come out only for Xbox instead of multiple systems, I do believe that would solve everything. Or not. No, It probably wouldn't, That's just pushing it. Either way, really exciting, I just hope that the E card won't have international lock outs like I heard it will.
I know a few classics I'd like to see Rescue: The Embassy Mission, Conflict, Golgo 13, etc.
Anyone else care to share info, opinion, complaints?
