Official: Masters of the Universe cartoon thread

Has anyone one else seen the trailers for the new Masters of the Universe cartoon? If the trailers are any indication, IMO the cartoon looks like it's going to rock. You can defenitly see the influence anime played in the way everything is drawn. I just hope the story doesn't disapoint.

The 90 minute movie premiers this Friday the 16th at 4:00 pm Eastern on Cartoon Network.

Update: The new cartoon is still kicking ass. They've brought back so many of the old school characters such as Buzz Off and TwoBad and gave them all purpose. Not just to be a bunch of He-Man/Skeletor side characters. They've given them all back stories and even broght back a villian that was in the old series but never out as a figure (Count Marzo). Future episodes will bring us other old school characters such as Zodac, the Snake Men and possibly even Hordak. Of all the revival of old cartoons, this is the one that is staying truest to the original while making it better.

MOTU + Anime influence = I don't give a fuck, it's not really MOTU.

I'm excited. I saw that trialer and went "Eeeeeeee!" The person sitting next to me looked frightened. :D

Excellent! And Transformers Armada is due out on the 30th.

Just so you all know, Armada is on the Cartoon Network the 30th at 4:30, and will continue at that timeslot on a weekly basis. :D

And thank God for that! Have you seen a MOTU cartoon now that you\'ve matured? They suck! Thundercats? Suck! I love them both dearly, but they do not stand the test of time. Transformers does. G.I. Joe does. Even the freaking Smurfs does! But MOTU is trash by todays standards. Thank God it\'s getting an overhaul...

MOTU does hold up today and I still love it. And dammit, I don't get the Cartoon Network so I won't be seeing the new one. Maybe I can find a place to download it or something.

MOTU old school is better than any 'action' cartoon ever since it. Ever.

Hey I love oldschool MOTU as much as the next guy. Hell, I even have Greyskull and Snake Mountain set up in my living room, but I'm sorry the cartoons do not hold up. I have every one on tape and still watch them, but mainly for laughs. The dialouge is crap as well as the plots. Prince Adam/He-Man is as dumb as an Ox and the rest of Eternia isn't any smarter. Yeah, it maybe a classic, but it's not up to today standrads.

and to think that when we first started watching, these guys were the smartest people around. they sure as hell ain't macguyver though! that guy can make a box cutter and 3 post-it notes into a car!
