YOU are the retarded one pal.... while I could understand anyone saying that the 80's Transformers series doesnt look too good anymore, what I cannot understand how anyone can even say anything remotely good about the japanese bastardization know as Robots in Disguise. Its an abomination...it has shitty art...POOR animation, stupid characters...UGH... The original in my opinion still has some of the best voices EVER.. Frank Welker and Peter Cullen fucking rule as Megatron and Optimum Prime... I hope the japanese NEVER do another Transformers series..


Oh..the new He-Man isnt too bad! I liked it..its better than most of the crap thats on now.. I cant even watch cartoons on tv anymore that isnt on Cartoon Network. (I cannot STAND all those lame ass japanese imports ..y'know..Digimon..Yu-gi-oh..and all that other garbage..ugh..)

Finally watched it. I say it’s wholly average. It has some potential. The action scenes were a tad too stylish for me and started to get a little repetitive. It just seemed a little too weird when just about everyone knew how to flip high into the air and tumble while spinning a weapon.

My only really big complaint is that He-Man's transformation was very anti-climactic. I was very disappointed when I didn't hear blazing music and a manly chorus proclaiming "HE-MAN!". Plus He-man doesn’t have his constantly reverbing echo (he did have echo during his transformation, but I thought it was a little weak). But I could see why they didn't use all that. It would have greatly disrupted the tone they established throughout the entire show.

This new revision is a good to average show, but it definitely isn't the same as its filmation classic. A part of me wishes that it was more like the classic, but I'm also satisfied with what the new show appears to be.

I think Invader Zim has better animation than Samurai Jack...and is the better show overall. I find SJ to be terribly boring.

I was looking for a topic like this in the cartoons/anime thread... don't you guys think it should be moved over there??

Anyway, I enjoyed the new He-Man cartoon, sure it still has some cheesiness but again, it's made for kids, we just happen to be a by-product audience because of our childhood. The one part I really laughed at was when Randor asked if He-Man could FLY! :lol: That was fantastic...

Overall, He-Man is one of the best 80s revival cartoons I have seen, it may not be the best cartoon of all time, but I don't think anyone has said it was.

And Maruchan... I'm confused... you actually *liked* RiD? You're not four years old are you? :) Transformers is one cartoon that I'm SO glad is not made in Japan anymore...

MOTU was great! I did have some problems with it, but Skelator seemed to sum that up nicely.

And about RiD...maruchan...you're dumb.

RiD was no where near the G1 storyline.

As far as HeMan,the excessive twirling of swords got me annoyed after a while.it got pretty pointless.And skelator has the WORST VOICE EVER!i was expecting some deep methodic brooding voice from a guy with a skull for a head.but NOOOOO! i get some 12 year old boy with his nuts in a vice.the voice has to go.

As for the way skelator looks when you say some dumb shit.that had me rollin!that has to be a running gag.

everything else was okay i guess.nothing else really bugged me that much.I do like the way that chicks magic attacks are done very nice.

i give it a 8/10 also.

The only thing good that I can say about RID on fox was the character designs, which unfortunately were put to waste in goofy and downright shameful ways.

To be fair to R.I.D, when created in Japan as Carobots. It was made strictly for kids and has nothing to do with Gen 1. They weren't Called autobots and decepticons over there. Nor was Optimus Prime or Megatron suppose to be part of ther series. It's when it was brought here it got all messed up. They wanted familiar names so they throw out some popular Gen 1 names rename the good guys autobots and have some of the badguys decepticons. The older Transformer fans see this and say,"hey what the fuck?" but the show was completely intended for children. I know it sucked, but the kids liked it. Not all cartoons are suppose to please 20+ year olds. Also go back and watch Gen 1, besides the movie all the other epidsodes were kinda kiddy. I still watch them a lot, but I still transform my Transformers regularly also. So that doesn't mean much.

RiD.. greastest Transformers ever.. Generation1.. as many transfomres fans agree. is pure shit... yes i have fond memoeires as kid..

But overall art, story, RiD slaps it ass all over the place.. the art is great.. Armada looks exactaly the same.. cause its made by the same freaking japanese art studio..i belive...

Well...there's not much to say to you aside from: "YOU'RE WRONG!"

You're correct on the point that they were not called "Autobots" or "Decepticons." They were called Cybertrons and Predicons. But they all had the original names. Megatron was called Megatoron-sama (Master Megatron) and Optimus was called Oputimusu Puraimu (Optimus Prime). Ultra Magnus was called God Magnus (just like his Gen1 counterpart).

The names were, in fact, changed for the translation...but it's the other way around. In Japan their names were all Gen1/Beast Wars names. They were all changed here, thank God, to new names, but in some cases were simply switched with other Transformers.

Get your Transformer info right before you go preaching.
