never played the first US persona game, can anyone tell me if it's worth getting? i've played part 2 for a lil while but had to put it down due to school. i liked part 2 allot though. are they similar in play style? what's the story like? oh, and is it tedious? sometimes while playin' part 2 i'd just get plain tired of talkin' to demons.
Part 2 imho is way better than the first game.
The first game has some very, very tedius first person dungeon sequences that just killed me (ie. boredome). It also has quite a bit of required leveling up if I remember correctly.
The stories are loosly connected I believe, I'd suggest checking out gamefaqs, and read through one of the story faqs if you have questions.
the original Persona really sucked IMO...probably a couple people here will like it, im still working on Persona 2, which is awesome, what a departure form one, very underated RPG.
You guys forget to mention that Persona 2 US is only the 2nd part of the 2nd Japanese game. (Persona 2 in Japan was two games. Only the 2nd made it here.)

If I had time, I'd definitely play Persona 2, despite my usual antipathy towards RPGs.

I wanted to like Persona but that fucked up control scheme and the boring first person dungeons killed my enjoyment. Someday I'll get around to finishing it(sense of duty, y'know) but it won't be any time soon. I played Persona 2 a little when my friend Gus bought it and I liked it.
