How was YOUR Graduation?

Has anyone who graduated from either high school or college have a bad or indifferent experience during commencement? If that doesn't make sense, let me explain.

At my college graduation in May, I was suppossed to sing a solo for the ceremony before (Baccelaureate) and sing in a quartet for the national anthem during the ceremony. The day before, I got laryngitis, and could barely sing at all. I also wasn't sitting near anyone that I knew, so it was kinda boring (thank god the ceremony went by as fast as it did.), but I managed. After, I didn't even bother trying to find friends for pictures or anything. I was more worried about moving my stuff off campus.

Every time I sit and think about the ceremony, I can't help but think that it was just another day, not a really special (some would argue THE most special) day.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Does anyone else feel like their graduation wasn't special to them?

Uni: Didn't even bother going. :p


Generally speaking for me ceremonies = Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, so.. no I don't consider them special at all. I was quite proud of accomplishing my uni degree! But the ceremony itself was completely meaningless to me. :)

College was such an ordeal of bordeom for me that I decided not to go to my graduation. Now that I work for the university, its almost as if I never left at all.

Just wait 'till you finish grad school- I hear that its even more worthy of apathy than an undergrad ceremony...

Unlike most of my high school experiences, I loved graduation.

I graduated a year and a half early, and didn't bother going to graduation. :)

High School grad was a bit of a big deal for me, as I was the first one on my father's side to finish high school. God, it would have been so much better if my mom were alive to be there. I didn't bother with pictures because the majority of the people were going to the same college.

Terribly boring.

If indifferent can include not going, and being at home playing games or sleeping, yes, I was indifferent about my HS graduation. College, don't need it. It would poison my mind so I walk around like Stone being a 'if we can do it, lets' retard.

i did not like my HS graduation...I felt uncomfortable and kinda depressed. And although i'm not done yet, college has given me enough headaches academically and financially that i will make it a point not to go to that damn graduation - if i ever make it out of here that is.

something came up in my life the day of my graduation from high school (actually the whole week before) that made me not able to attend and take a year off before starting uni. if i could go back id like it to have been a better day, but things cant be changed. we had one helluva party tho....
