A Parent's Nightmare "Backyard Wrestling" the video game

Just read on a few Wrestling sites that Eidos Interactive has teamed with Backyard Wrestling to create Wrestling games for next-gen consoles.

For those who don't know Backyard Wrestling is un-trained to some extent kids/wrestlers who emulate their favorite Hardcore Wretlers, and jump off the roof of their house and hit each other with weapons, among other things.

Also the Mainstream Wrestling industry has warned how dangerous and careless these kids are, it is looked down upon.

Well this game will need a M rating or parents politicians will be all over this.

Still with that said the game could be interesting if you can really jump off your house and stuff...

Yes! It had better have a good create-a-hick mode!

Seriously, I used to do backyard wrestling all the time. (Someday I will post pics and movies)

My first alter ego was "Ippon Ichi Man" with "The Tatami Pancake" as my finisher.

I then became the villanous "French Connection" with my "Painful Tower" finisher.

I retired from the Backyard circut as "Mad Bad Gregory Paul".


I will definately be getting this game to recapture those fun college days...

I'm not sure if I should be excited or scared.

I have a feeling something like this could do more damage to videogame, and wrestlings image than it's worth.

Oh boy, if wrestling wasn't bad enough on games already now we need wannabe wrestling games :p

You need to play THQ's games on the N64.

You mean they aren't like the normal wrestling games where the characters move slow and the only real skill you need is who can press the button fastest... that is the reason I don't like wrestling games because anyone with a turbo controller can master it ;)

Hmmm maybe Sierra should lend their Backyard game character designs. Sickeningly adorable kids piledriving each other... *-neo

Wresltemania 2000 and No Mercy are the two best Domestic Wrestling games ever. Nice grapple system, a little slow but still fun fun games.

Firepro D owns everything...
