Its a shame that SoR3 is always gonna live in the shadow of SoR2. :(
Its a great game in its own right, and yet the general consensus is always: "SoR3 is not as good as SoR2." :(
Why not: "SoR3 is one of the best beat-em-ups ever."?
I always enojoyed Streets of Rage 3. I haven't played SOR 1, 2, or 3 in quite a while so I can't really compare them. Though I must say, SOR 1's music was my favourite.
Okay, I have no knowledge of SOR at all and I can't really comment. However, it is just great to see Cafeman hanging out! Glad to see you around man.

Come on, for the early Genesis period, Streets of Rage looked great; near arcade quality. It looks just as good as say, Golden Axe, as far as I'm concerned.
Eh, SOR1 had visuals that ranged from innofensive to bad. The turnaround for part 2 is pretty damn astonishing.
I rather liked the more serious, detailed, realistic look of SOR...but overall SOR2 is king for me. I really need to track down Bare Knuckle 3 cuz I mean, so what it's not quite as good as 2...anything that's close to that one still has to be pretty damn good! :P
SoR2 is one kickass game. Final Fight CD is rather disappointing considering SoR2's smooth control. I thought SoR1 looked decent... but SoR2 just floored me with its graphics, and the animation was the best I had seen at that time on the Genny.
Max is my favorite character with Blaze running a close second. Get some good combos going with Max and pile on the damage. I usually jump in with the elbow drop, then do his canned combo (you get an extra hit if you land inside the enemy) and follow it with a mule kick.
As for SoR3, it is a shame that SoA censored it. Changing Ash's attire and maybe a certain animation of his would have sufficed- they didn't really need to axe him entirely.
Blaze's grey outfit and Axel's yellow shirt look sorta blah, but the game play is still SoR. The "OK" meter is a nice addition that makes your specials more useful against the bosses. The only thing that really bothers me is the absence of Max. 3's soundtrack is actually excellent, even if it doesn't live up to the earthshattering BGM of part 2. I think SoR3 is as good as SoR2 in most ways, but better in some.
I cannot believe that some of you people are actually complementing the soundtrack to SOR3!!!!!!!!! Its one of the worst BGM's I have EVER heard in a genesis game and certainly the worst of the SOR games. I think most of the tunes in that game are just random bleeps and bloops with a lame beat in the background. Other than the main "SOR" theme I cant find ONE decent tune in that game...and that "disco" theme is lame fruity crap too. Ugh... I have no idea what Yuzo was sniffing when he composed that garbage. The game itself is excellent though. Great control, speed, gameplay..etc.. just lame tunes though.
