Picked this game up today. It is definitly worth a purchase. At this point, I'd say anyone who picks up DOA volleyball and doesn't buy this game needs to get their priorities straight. You do realize that you're picking a game made by Team Ninja(a decent development studio at best) over a game by AM2(the greatest arcade developer of all time), right? DOA volleyball will probably be fun, but Beach Spikers has hella tight gameplay going for it.
Sounds cool, but I am probablly going to get Super Monkey Ball 2 or Mario Sunshine instead, and I still want to eventually get NFL2K3 for my cube not to mention I've been putting off Metal Slug X and Strikers 1945 for quite some time......maybe I'll go play some Dig N Spike Volleyball on my SNES to ease the pain...
I would pick BS (hehe) up too but there's way too many other games I'm spending my money on. Mario Sunshine, Mega Man Zero, Animal Crossing are just a few... end of August-September = too many games I want!!!
I don't wish to venture into polemics, but I must say that cat ears never hurts. I'm not a "fanboy" or any of the other pretentious things that others say so as to take solace in their own morality, but I take my volleyball games seriously(the italics and bold should denote that further). I have ever since Super Volleyball for the old PCE/TG16. As you know the URS team was the best..but I digress. And now with the insurgence of female volleyball games, I enjoy total customization. If I want my team to wear string bikinis, cat ears, and high heels, then so be it.
I will undoubtedly get both, all I have to say for myself is that I'm going to hell anyway for liking DOAXV and it doesn't bother me so why should it bother anyone else?
Get both, be happy, and get over your own principles.
What the hell is this all about? DOA Volleyball isnt even out yet bro. It may end up sucking but it may end up blowing Beach Spikers out of the water. Im not trying to root "for" Tecmo or "against" Sega (I can give a fuck about either), but holy shit... Im all for waiting until something is released before you bash on it.Quote:

They are just Vollyball games! You guys need to calm the hell down. So far all the stuff I have read about for DoA:XV is the women, stuff to unlock and the possability of Nudity. This all the creator talked about as well in an interveiw. I don't know if their priortys are in the right place, so I have my doubts. Sega makes really good Arcade Sports games, and made Beach Spikers to make a Vollyball game first and foremost methinks, other wise it would look like DoA:XV. I am going to trust Sega more then Tecmo in terms of actuall Vollyball play mechanics.

and Diffusion, im gonna give DOAV at least a rental, but so far Team Nnja excels in the eye candy department, not gameplay. so....im calm, im cool.
Wow! I spent all night last night getting to know this game and building up my partner. I finished 4th my first time through the game...but only at Sega's stage. I sucked...but I loved it the whole way through!
The Nissan stage is my favorite.
My team? Why, it's me and my fiance! Yep! I created Autumn pretty damn good...and for me...I picked really short hair and and a rather manish face. Viola! Team Jim and his fiancee!

Glad you like it, man. It's one of those games that is not only awesome the first time you play it, but continues to improve and impress. One of my faves this year...so far...
