At the end of the month I'm heading down to NYC (for the first time) to spend a few days in the city to check it out.
Are there any game shops or other places that you can recommend to a New York City newbie?
Currently, I have my targets set on going to the Toys 'R Us in Times Square (to pickup Super Mario Sunshine and Super Monkey Ball 2), and catch a taping of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. :)

Go to Brooklyn and find Lombardi's Pizza- its the first pizzareia to open in the US- and the birthplace of the NY style pizza. Good stuff.
Visit Chinatown as well- there are some import shops hidden around there.
Game Express on 32nd Street between 6th & 7th Avenue (near the front of Madison Square Garden) is a good store to check out.
And on a similar subject, does anyone have a good list of Chinatown import shops to visit?
Penguin Village and J&L are the two I can think of off the top of my head. There are problem more places scattered about but they carry pirated games too...
You can find the above on Elizabeth St. off of Canal St., it's in the heart of Chinatown. J&L is a fairly large store but Penguin Village is in the lower floor of the Elizabeth Shopping Center.

If your in the area, there's a domestic game shop on Mott (I believe, might have been Mulberry) with some mighty good deals. Across from a playground.

Though honestly, you're better off just dealing with Penquin. For those curious to its location, it's within Elizabeth Mall. Take the escalator downstairs and then make a right and head towards the back.
Soul Calibur 2 is currently at CF (Chinatown Fair), but be prepared for a lack of ventilation, and other lil surprises. :jest:
