Because it's realistic. 2K3 uses every single formation and play a team used last season. If not having that is your idea of a good playcalling scheme, and if you don't understand football enough to call seperate coverages, then maybe NFL Blitz is more your thing...

Strider you missunderstood what I meant. Its not the plays themselves I hate its the GAY interface to select them.

My only qualm about football games is time management. When it comes to sports games, I prefer super-realism. I fuss over stuff like high rebounding rates in NBA2k2 and such. It has always bothered me how the computer gets plays off in 12-15 seconds when they usually take at least 30-35 seconds of the play clock.

The only problem with that, amerlop, is that a game with 5 minute quarters would only have 35 plays run.

I've rented the game today, and I must say, it is a huge improvement upon the already great NFL2k series.


The only negative I have for the game, is in the selecting a player on defence, before the snap. With the DC, you could use the D-Pad to shuffle around the players, but with the PS2 version, you have to use the O button to go from one player to the next. If you pass the player you wanted to select, you have to shuffle around the whole team again, to choose the player you wanted. Other than that, the game is solid in every way.
