What is the pile of shame, games you have never played, or never defeated, or just played and never finished...DEFINE, CLICK IS CONFUSING! (And clueles...)
er, check the first post in the thread :P
I'd define it as any game you purchased, kept for a long time, but never really gave an honest shot. 'completed' doesn't apply to many games, and you can 'beat' a game without completing it in many cases. It's a personal decision ultimately.
and all that assumes you really give a damn about completing some of your library ;) some people just like to collect games I suppose
Cha-ching! Two more notches in the belt!
Thanks to my paid vacation this week, I was able to finish Dragon Warrior IV after playing it all day yesterday and today. Since I made short work of the final boss, I figured there isn't much motivation to continue playing.
Right after I finished DW4, I popped in Ninja Gaiden II to see how far I could get in 45 minutes (girlfriend wanted the TV at 11:30 for SNL). I beat it, to my own surprise. With time to speare. It was so freakin' easy compared to the first one, which took me 5 years... yes, 5 years of playing it over and over again to become skilled enough to finally beat it. Also, the story sucked (NG1s was actually pretty cool), as did the music/sound effects (again, much surpassed by NG1). I don't think I'll play this one again for a loooooooong time.
One more week, post your progress!
Nothing this week for me. I joined the warpact with the hope that it would jumpstart my playing a bit, but so far it hasn't helped. :(
Dragon Warrior VII - 109 hours, at the final dungeon, fully (I hope) levelled up. This puppy should be toast in a day or two; as soon as I've got the time.
I can't believe you actually made it through it. Opinions? Was it worth it?
Yeeeeyuh! Woo-hoo! Dragon Warrior VII is DONE, muthasuckaz!
*spikes DW7 case in gaming endzone*
Yeah!! I am THE MAN! Woo-
Oops. I smashed it. Oh well.
Yeeeyuh!
Now I'm back on Suikoden II - those other endings will be mine, oh yes. And good God, going from DW7 to this is like night and day. DW7 was fun, but Suiko2 just demolishes it. Vic - if you want final impressions, I'm resurrecting the DW7 thread.
Consider me impressed, and that's a hard thing to do :) Updating now with your glorious victory.
*ahem*?

Cool. Now all that remains is to see if I can plow through Suikoden II in a week (supposedly it can be done in 20 hours - it took me 40 the first time).Quote:

Whoops! Sorry :) Not sure how exactly I missed that :(Quote:

Just finished Dragon View for SNES.
This was a great little obscure game! I had a lot of fun playing it. Anyone who's a fan of action/RPGs should check this one out.
Maybe I should finish Legacy of Kain (the first) next since it seems I'm in an ARPG/Action-Adventure mood right now.
And another week goes by. A little early this time, but I was a little late last time and missed some people due to the timing.
Post your progress! :)
I've decided to only post every week in here, not every time my Pile List changes. I'm sure we who monitor our piles have some stuff to add due to spoils from the holidays. With that said...
3 added games:
- Gekioh: Shooting King (PS1)
- Animal Crossing (GC)
- Metroid Prime (GC)
Finished:
- Mega Man X2 (SNES)
I think I'll add shmups to my list, since I'm finally starting to beat them (on one coin, of course).
Added to my shame:
Ikaruga
Gunbird 2
Gekioh
DoDonPachi
ESPrade (ah, my first PCB...)
Skull Monkeys
Mega Man X4
Strikers 1945
Strikers 1945 II
GTA: Vice City
Contra: SS
Ore no Ryouri
G-Darius
Raycrisis
Darius Gaiden
Panzer Dragoon
Metal Slug
Metal Slug X
Metal Slug 3
Soukyugurentai
Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack (counts as two)
Games recently beat:
Metroid Prime
Giga Wing 2
Final Soldier
Mars Matrix
That should be 37 total titles in my pile, with 5 in the hall of fame.
EDIT: Sorry again, my memory been fried by the drug use lately. I swear it's 37 now.:)
Been a while since I updated my list :) Anyway, take off 5 of my 7 games in my pile of shame, I haven't beaten them, but I don't have them or have no desire to keep playing those ones :( Anyway, on to what I've beaten since last time, add these to my finished game count:
Blood Omen 2
Ghost Recon
Grim Fandango
Hitman 2
Mafia
Mech Assault
Resident Evil
Sega GT 2002
Shenmue 2
Splinter Cell
Warcraft 3
I've been a busy little bee :D Anyway, I just got MK:DA, and am working on Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 4, so go ahead and add those to my pile :)
I'm confused :bang:
You had 7 in your list before, 5 of them you decided you didn't want to finish. Ok, 2 in your pile. Then you beat 11... were these new, or were they in your pile before but you hadn't updated? And you're adding three new ones you want to beat, so your final total should be 12 finished, 5 in your pile?
to make it simple, i beat halo, so that's one more the list that i have beaten. but i've received games and such for xmas. so my list still stands at 123. =/
For the first time I can remember, I have a pile of shame. Four unused Best Buy certificates and a PS2 without a memory card can result in a lot of unfinished games.
GBA:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
Metroid Fusion
PS2:
ICO
Onimusha
Klonoa 2
Maximo
PC:
Alice
Fallout
(millions of others that I don't care enough about)
Yessir :)Quote:

Completed:
Final Fantasy Tactics
Jak and Daxter
Metroid Fusion (not sure if that really counts as being on the pile, but hey, its an accomplishment :) )
Going back to the Store:
Brave Fencer Musashi
I gave BFM an honest shot, but after several hours in, it just felt more and more like work, and less and less like fun :(
Not sure what I'm going to tackle next, but it *won't* be a platformer :) Maybe DMC.
I think I'll jump in here. I won't be buying much for the next few months, as I'll be saving to pick a Gamecube once Zelda comes out, as well as waiting for last year's fourth-quarter games to hit budget prices. I'm going to focus first on the Zeldas, and then we'll see what happens from there. So, here we go:
la: http://www.oldskewl.com/sevenforce/shame.html
w00t. Just polished off Link to the Past. -1. List is now up here:
http://www.oldskewl.com/sevenforce/shame.html
Beat ICO. Excellent game.
Now, to continue with Alice...
Added to the list:
Strider 2
Prikura Daisakusen
Photoboy
RC de Go!
Lords of Thunder
Robo Aleste
Contra: Hard Corps
Shinobi III
Minus Sky Gunner and Shenmue since they aren't mine anymore.
Pile of Shame: 43
How is Alice? I just picked it up but haven't even opened it yet.Quote:

-1. Finished Link's Awakening today.
I bought two more games....125 total
i beat rygar 124.
Updated, and another week has gone by, post progress :)
jiji, please doublecheck my totals, not sure if I read your list right on your site...
I have 4 discs full of Genesis, NES, and SNES games that I've hardly touched. Does that count? ;)
Cool thread, BTW.
Victrix, I've added three games and removed two, so my total unplayed games should be 36. I've got two completed, so you're right on there. :)
Will do, updated :)
Only if you plan on actually beating them Omni. It's a personal thing. If you want to join as motivation for completing your titles, feel free.
Hahaha, nah that would be impossible. I was just being facetious. :) There's alot of stink I don't wanna touch on those CDs anyway.
Update!
- Finished Metroid Prime! 93%, 24 hours. I'll be playing this one again to get all the scans and to find some more of those ever-elusive Missle Tanks.
- Added Sol Divide for PS1. As a shooter fan, I just couldn't resist. It's still in the shrinkwrap on my shelf because...
- Added STAR PARODIA!!! *glorious fanfare* The PCE joystick I bought to play it with should be arriving in the next couple of days!
*shrieks with delight* EEEE!! I've been drooling over this game for a few years now. It's sitting right here in front of me. I can't wait to try it out. Merry belated Xmas, OFX.
Well, the holidays totally derailed my motivation, but I'm back on the horse now.
Suikoden II is finished - I never did complete Clive's Quest, but I realized early on that it was impossible to do it and get all 108 characters. I went for the characters instead so I could get the best ending.
I picked up Suikoden III, and that's going to be the next thing I get into.
I also knocked another scenario off in Dynasty Tactics...but I still have tons to go.
So, my pile right now stands at 4. One day, I'll be done...one day...
I'm not liking it all that much. The levels are beautiful, but they're too damn linear. The weapons could be a little more balanced, too.Quote:
How is Alice? I just picked it up but haven't even opened it yet.
Not that bad of a game, but it's probably the worst of the Q3 engine bunch, unless I'm forgetting something outside of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Jedi Knight II, and Heavy Metal: FAKK (I'm sure that I am).
The one thing I've ever used a gameshark code for, to reset that damned clock. :/Quote:

Ok, time for an updated, though a tiny one.
Finished: Record of Lodoss War
Purchased: Einhander and Thousand Arms.
Hey, now that's not a bad idea! Oh well, too late now. One day in the future I might run through the 20 hours it takes if I'm really bored. I never saw the "lose at Tinto" ending anyway.Quote:

w00t. -1. Just finished Ocarina of Time.
Finished: Arc the Lad II.
Finished Zone of the Enders (BIG accomplishment there :p) and did a little rearranging. Updated list is here, as usual. It seems more titles are disappearing from my lack of desire to have anything more to do with them than from me actually finishing them. Ah well. I decided to assemble this list and work away at it so that I could enjoy my games more, and if it helps me realize which games I don't enjoy and would rather not spend time with, then so be it.
Edit: After going through this thread again, I realized just how many people (me included) didn't find much to like about Majora's Mask. What is it with this game? I was really excited to get into it after a nice long run through all the Zelda games, and it just completely let me down. I can't quite nail down what it is I don't like about it, but it kinda seems to me like something I could point at and say "This what NCL did while Miyamoto wasn't looking." It sort of feels like a fan-modification for Ocarina of Time. Same engine, same tools, but the soul and the fun are missing.
Edit 2: I'm through with Silent Bomber.
Just toasted Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. I've had this bad boy for over four years, and I just now beat the last boss. I even got the Grand Master rank on the last level.
Where the hell is Victrix? He hasn't updated the list in a while. I'll make it easier for him. My stats are now:
10 games finished
133 games in the pile
In Taiwan for over a week ;) And next I'm heading off to Seattle on monday. No rest for the weary, no updates for the warpact ;) I'll fix it up over the weekend while I'm here.
Wow. No rest, indeed. What is your profession, if you don't mind my asking?
Just finished Rhapsody. Current totals: 6 finished, 30 in the pile.
Strategy guide author. Combine that and I'm sure you can figure out why I'm flying to Seattle :P That's my 'real' job, my other job is a game developer with a company called Reactive Software. Eventually I want that to be my real job, but in the meantime, bills gotta be paid. Conveniently, it dovetails nicely ;)
Keep the updates coming if you've got them, I am watching, and I will update before I leave.
Updated :) I'll be heading out tommorow, but I'll check in sometime during the day, and catch any last minute changes :)
finished:
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Kingdom Hearts
Neither were on my list though.
i've lost track. i've bought many games as of late, thanks or no thanks to flea markets, online import shops, and upcoming "must have now" games. i'll sort through my mess as soon as move into my new room.
I played my NES pretty much all day today. Lolo, Zanac, Solstice, Ninja Gaiden 3, Battletoads, and Gradius all saw some action and I managed to beat two games:
- Life Force (wasn't on my list, but should have been)
- Stinger
I eliminated a few because they suck like shit:
- Target Renegade (awful, clunky, frustrating beat-em-up)
- King's Knight (Squaresoft's second US release... it sucks)
- Puss 'N Boots (I love the cute cover art, but it was no fun to play at all)
Those three are gone, but I won't receive credit since I didn't finish them. My new totals are now:
12 finished
129 in the pile
Added to the pile:
Don Doko Don
Son Son II
Super Star Soldier
Finished:
Star Parodia
Shubibinman 3
Pile of Shame: 46
Completed games: 7
Back in town, and damn glad to be back :) Lots of games to play (DMC2, Orta, Simcity 4), personal projects to work on (Titanium!), and updates to the warpact :D
Warpact is updated, those of you who are in doubt about your totals, please review what you've got, and again, I'll recommend Video Game Tracker to maintain your lists.
Weekend update, getting it back on a one week Saturday schedule (barring the inevitable real life interuptions ;)
Post your progress!
I've completely stagnated, and the recent acquisitions of SimCity 4 (fun), Unreal 2 (boring), Devil May Cry 2 (fun), and Panzer Dragoon Orta (woo) aren't helping matters :P I'm also really busy with a project called Titanium, a total conversion of Q3 into a fast paced combat game based on personal battlesuits... hopefully that 'other' work stuff will give me a break soon ;) I need time to game.
Let's see...
- I'm at the last boss in Exile (Turbo CD), but it never fails to kick my ass. I guess I need more strength-enhancing potions.
- I decided to play Hard Mode in Metroid Prime. I think I'm about to face Thardus. In other words, I should give up now before my self-esteem is pooped out of its icy ass.
- I broke out DW7 a little while ago and made some great progress. I made a second immigrant town (Farm), gained about 12 levels, mastered a few classes, found the rest of the TinyMedals I needed for the PlatKing heart, and... I BEAT GOD! Kicked his ass three times, I did, and unlocked the second bonus dungeon. I haven't played in a few days, but when I left off, I was working on completing my Monster Book. Only one enemy left, I think.
- As always, I try to squeeze in some Animal Crossing. I have the last upgrade to my house, but I have like, 700k bells to pay off.
Nothing finished, though (or added). Oh well, maybe next week.
Holy crap. How many hours are you at? I was going squirrely by the end because combat had gotten so mindless, but I never got the bonus dungeons.Quote:

As for my pile, I've regressed...buying new games and not winning older ones. I've fallen off the wagon. But I'm gonna knuckle under and at least get through Suikoden III once before Xenosaga shows up.
Strider, you've got to finish :) I'm rooting for you! You may be the first graduate from the grim hall of Shame. A true Warpact honorary badge awaits you!
Which reminds me. I'd really like to do something for the people who do eliminate their stack. I'm thinking something small, so as not to encourage tremendous cheating (though that has never seemed to be a problem around here, on the scoreboards, the honor system works just fine), but just something nifty. Maybe even simply a tiny graphic to put on webpages or sig/pic boxes.
Any ideas?
155 hours, I think. Battling in DQ/DW games is always pretty mindless, but the cool thing about DW7 is that whenever I had enough, I could always go do something else (casino games, immigrant town, gathering monsters for the Monster Park, etc.).Quote:

For 95% of my levelling up, I fought around Krage. Among the wimpy slimes and healers, you'll also find Metalies, Metabbles, GoldSlimes, and... *points to av* ...those bad boys. Even the fights with the lowly slimes count towards class levels, as does anywhere else in Disc 2's overworld. Definitely the best place in the game to build both class and character levels.
 Damn man. I need to pull this game back out. I was really enjoying myself with it at one point and now it's just wasting away off in a dark corner..Quote:

I sold Valkyrie Profile and Blaster Master. Does that count?
Were they two out of your last four? If so, it removes them - doesn't put them on the hall of fame. It does put you two titles away from clearing your stack though, if that is the case :)
Finished: Suikoden III.. 120 goddamned hours.
:wtf:!? Dude, please tell me you spent a ton of time messing around. There's no way that game can be longer than Dragon Warrior VII, is there?Quote:

A ton of time, yeah. You know how you have to go through every area over and over to get anywhere? Well, after every major story change I felt the need to go check out every city I could to see if anything new had happened. :/ I didn't terribly mind, I suppose, but that's why not having a teleport until towards the end really annoyed me.
Doh. I do the same thing. Maybe I won't have this done before Xenosaga comes out after all...
Weekend update, post your progress!
I'm still stalled out, but today also marks my freedom from my last guide project, so I will FINALLY have free time again. I've got a nice stack of new stuff built up on top of my pile, but I'm really looking forward to digging into it (particularly Orta, which I did manage to play half of). I finished DMC2 on normal with both characters, so I'll probably polish off Orta, then look back over my stack and see what to do.
I don't think I'm going to bother counting Sim City 4, you can't really beat that ;) Unreal 2 is... meh. I suspect I'll beat it just to see all the cool stuff, but it isn't very exciting.
Finished:
- Star Parodia (PCE). Hard difficulty, using Bomberman. I lost a bunch of lives at the end, but I still had like, 15 left. I also managed to get ~650k in the 5-minute time attack mode. Hooray!
Added to pile:
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time (GC). Enjoying it lots. I'm at the second dungeon.
- Solar Striker (GB). Damn that level 4 boss!
Hall of Fame - 13
Pile of Shame - 130
Thrown on the pile:
One
Tail of the Sun
Shikigami no Shiro
Cho Aniki
The Bombing Islands
Ura Zelda
Dino Crisis
Sol Divide
Thunder Force III
Eternal Eyes
Granstream Saga
Philosoma
Dynamite Headdy
Ogre Battle 64
Pile of Shame: 60 titles
Dang...
Splinter Cell
Monkey Island 4
JSRF
CVS2 (until I can play it properly)
Finished:
Final Fantasy X
Alright, I'm back in the saddle. Unfortunately I've bought some new games, but I'm almost back to where I was.
Bought: Shinobi, Kessen, Zone of the Enders
Finished: Kessen, Zone of the Enders
That leaves:
Suikoden III
Shinobi
Metroid Prime
Dynasty Tactics
I'm going to try and get through Suikoden III before Xenosaga comes out next week, and I'm almost done Shinobi. Of course, I'm going to get the OoT disc tomorrow, which'll set me back a bit, but at least I'm treading water.
You can take 3 off my list.
Rhapsody of Zephyr (DC)- Sold it.
Dodonpachi (PSone)- Finally starting to understand the game and getting better after putting some time in.
The Kaiten (PSone)- Thought it was ok playing by myself, but 2P is a lot of fun. Now I enjoy it quite a bit.
I've probably got more to add as well by now, but I'm keeping my mouth shut.
edit- Kaneda: If you get into it, there's a Super Star Soldier score thread over at TFP Challenge that could use some love.
8:19:50 is all R-Type Delta is gonna get out of me. This crap has got to go (a little harsh, but you know).
-1
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (PSX) - The spirit of humanity prevaisl! Cheesy, cheesy final battle with too much horrible dialogue, a 3-4 parter that lasted about an hour. The ending wasn't spectacular, but it made me feel better than the sour note I was expecting. Now I have to finish the Sega CD version. Lunar 1 is better.
-2
how can shmup's be on a pile of shame - score challenges never finish :)
camps
Current totals and list can be found here (updated location): http://sevenforce.ayashii.com/shame.html
9 titles completed, 31 on the pile.
Fully updated. I like your stack track jiji, interesting to look over, much like Omegas.
edit: some commentary on your stack
Play Jumping Flash! It's short, easy, and really fun :) There isn't anything out there quite like JF1 or 2. The second was more of the same, but I still remember playing the first one early in the psx days and going 'oooh, ahh'. I suspect the sparkling glow of nostalgia is rather softening what must be some horrendously plain polygons.
"(01/18/03) - removed Majora's Mask. Ick. Bleh. I don't think I'll ever be going back to that one. -_- " - Amen to THAT. Yugh. Blech. I echo your sentiments. I had it on my stack and DID finish it. Totally wasn't worth it. Made me hate the game even more. That goron area at the very end of the game filled me BERSERK rage :P
Record of Lodoss War - that's on my stack also. I do enjoy it when I play it, but it's a pretty long game. Slogging through all those enemies takes a good while, and it's so easy to get sidetracked hunting for mithril and runes to engrave :D I suspect it will be removed from my pile at some point.
Armored Core 2 and Klonoa 2 - I finished both of those. AC2 was surprisingly neat, K2 was surprisingly not. I will say that last area in K2 was pretty darn neat. I picked up AC2: AA, which was a tactical error, as AC3 came out shortly after that. Now I've got AA and not much desire to play it, since AC3 is out - gaming paralysis!
"Front Mission 3 - second loop, Alisa's scenario" - I haven't even finished the first path :( I'm about 2/3rds of the way through, but that was like... a year or two ago. It's hard to pick up again, since I have yet to have the urge to play it.
I was about to get back into it last night, but it seems it doesn't run on epsxe, so I'll have to deal with my old, creaky modded PSX. The game is a lot of fun though...maybe I'll play some more tonight. :)Quote:

Yeah, Majora was especially disappointing after just having played Ocarina. Seriously, what were they thinking? I can't even consider Majora a Zelda game...it's too different (and irritating).Quote:

This one is just an eventuality for me...it's the kind of game that's really addictive to me, so once I sit down with it, I shouldn't have any trouble finishing it off. :) I think I must be about halfway through, hopefully...Quote:

I enjoyed AC2 for about six hours, then something else came up and took my attention away from it. I tried going back recently, but I think Phantom Crash has spoiled me for mecha games...AC's control scheme and lack of characters bug me a lot more than they used to. I might be able to keep going on it sometime, though.Quote:

I played a few battles the other day, and I think I may have grown out of this game. I loved it to pieces when I played it right when it came out, but now the battles seem too straightforward and easy, and the weapon/mecha upgrades seem too linear. -_- Spoiled again by Phantom Crash, I guess (even though, yeah, that's action while this is strategy). Though I did get into Tactics Ogre quite a bit a few months ago, so that might have hurt my opinion as well. I haven't lost enough hope to take it off my list yet...but we'll see.Quote:

Thanks for the comments. :)
The whole thing took me 56 hours, but I maxed out almost everything and did all the sidequests. But I just couldn't put it down. I went through all of that in like 10 days, foregoing sleep.Quote:

Weekend update! Post yer progress!
I finished Devil May Cry 2 a while back, which I mentioned before, but it wasn't on my stack, so no progress for me. That goes for Unreal 2 as well, which I finished the other night. Final verdict - meh for gameplay, holy bejeebus for graphics in later levels. The levels themselves are so impressive its actually worth playing through just to see them and go 'damn, that's neat'.
Still have half of Orta to finish, but I'm actually sort of hesitant to play it, because it's such a wonderful experience, I don't want it to end :(
And my stack is doomed for awhile now. I just picked up Dark Cloud 2 and Breath of Fire.
Breath of Fire is REALLY cool, but I can see how it's only going to appeal to certain people, due to the game mechanics. I love em personally, and the music is really great. Story is pretty interesting so far, and that's coming from someone who is both jaded with and sick of japanese rpg plots. I'm sure they'll prove me wrong, but it's cool so far ;)
Dark Cloud 2 started with clowns... which is like, the worst way to begin anything, ever :( I think I'm scarred. I'll push my way out of the first area or two at some point, and see if the game grabs me more. The first one started out pretty bland, maybe it's a trait of their designer.
And as for my stack? *sigh* At least I'm maintaining an even keel, as everything I'm picking up, I'm finishing. But next week, Xenosaga gets added to the triple stack of rpgs, and more critically, MOO3, which may end any hope of resuming pile depletion for some months yet...
I did sell Kingdom Hearts (just couldn't get into it, the Disney/Square thing weirded me out badly), and Quantum Redshift (after the speed wore off, so did the gameplay), so -2 for me. 27 remaining!
Nothing to add, nothing to delete.
All I've been playing lately is Zelda: OoT. Last night I got the last Spiritual Stone and I'm currently exploring Hyrule as "big Link".
I've been pounding away at Suikoden III - 43 hours in, on chapter 4. I'm really, really enjoying this game; I'll be sad when it finally ends, but it looks like it has a ton of replay value - at least, in the game's second half. But for our purposes here, I'll consider once-through done for now.
Shinobi still has me stuck on 7A. I need to sit down and play that level until I finish it.
I'm also at the forest temple in GC OoT. Hopefully I'll get through this game before I get too swamped with new stuff
I take back the nasty thing I said about R-Type Delta. It was just a bad time, but I think it's better now.
+1 shame
Also, I didn't realize that the end of Lunar 2 wasn't the real end, and I had a 10 hour epilogue quest. Fun, but that was good other game finishing time. Now I'm playing the Sega CD Lunar 2, Einhander and R-Type Delta. I'm not quite sure how long I have to slave at these shooters before I can take 'em off.
I just purchased .Hack, and Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. I'll be getting Xenosaga next week as well, so you should probably add that too.
I finished .Hack. :)
Hi, my name is CybrGamr, and I am a game-aholic. I have a pile of games so unplayed that the discs have lost all the code on them so that when I do get around to them they won't work. I hope to be a better gamer after attending this group session....
Alright - enough of the "Hi, how are ya"'s. Here is a pretty disgusting pile of shame:
Dark Cloud 1, 2
Breath of Fire 4, 5
Xenosaga
Xenogears
Suikoden
Suikoden 3
Wild Arms 1, 2, 3
Lunar 1, 2
Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Rygar
Metal Gear Solid
Splinter Cell
Ghost Recon
Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Nightfire
Skies of Arcadia
Metroid Prime
Metroid Fusion
Star Fox
Ocarina of Time Bonus Disk
... yada, yada, yada. I need help. On the positive side, I have finished over the last month:
.hack//infection
Ratchet & Clank
I have also made some progress on Star Fox (55% complete).
I will continue to post progress in this thread to help reduce the shame I feel of having all these quality games just collecting dust.
I've been trying to lighten the load the last few weeks and have beaten a few games.
- Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance: Someone here recommended it and I found a mint copy cheap. This game is fucking awesome. The music, graphics, weapons, everything. It took me about 11 hours, but that's pretty good for a hack 'n slash. I loved how every enemy you killed stayed where they fell. I had doors with piles of enemies in front of them!
- Jedi Outcast (Xbox): Great game, except for the cheap deaths. The lightsaber was my weapon of choice for practically the whole game. Nothing like using a Force choke then throwing your saber through the guy!
I do wonder why they could get Billy Dee Williams to do Lando but not Mark Hamill for Luke. That would have really rocked.
- Bonk's Adventure: I decided to give it a spin and ended up playing it through. I've beaten it about a 100 times but it's just so damn much fun.
I'm working on Mark of Kri now. Great game with some nice kill sequences.
Hiya, CG. Welcome. Thanks for not making your own "Hi I'm a n00b thread". I don't mind them, but some of the native get restless when that happens.Quote:

I've got a pile o' shame a mile high, some of which I'm working on now. I'd be a lot farther along, if the only game I played for the past few weeks wasn't CVS2 Live.
Yesterday, I turned on some Serious Sam ( XB ) for while, and I'm about 80% done with that. I played X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 ( PSX ). It's a nice little game for the price ( $20 ), and it plays a bit like MVC2 w/o assists.
Also working on the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Bonus disk. I'm going to actually play through it, and I'm enjoying it thus far.
Resident Evil (Gamecube) has been beaten and removed from the pile of shame forever. Awesome game. I really like what they added.
Xenogears is next. I'm about 10 hours in.
That one had been sitting in the pile for so long, it had an inch of dust on it. Cool stuff so far. Gotta finish it, so I can play Xenosaga soon :)
Best. Zelda. Ever.Quote:

Totally wasn't worth it. Made me hate the game even more. That goron area at the very end of the game filled me BERSERK rage :P
Yes, I'm serious.
:)
Weekend update time.
Axed one! Castlevania Chronicles. It took 8 credits on Arrange mode to do it, but I did it nonetheless. Original mode is going to take nothing short of a miracle to beat, so I'm not gonna mess with it right now. CVC wasn't on my list, so I'll add another to balance it out:
Double Dragon. NES version. I've never actually beaten it, probably because that last stage is hard as FUCK.
14 completed
131 in the pile
Just bought Dark Cloud 2.
OK, new report in! Finished:
Apex (Xbox)
Sonic Advance (GBA)
Yoshi's Island (GBA)
This is disgusting. What happened? Stop buying Final Fantasy!Quote:
Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
I need to update my numbers here soon. For now:
Spriggan (PCE) finished
-1
Weekend update, post your progress!
All totals updated. Andy, I didn't realize how close you were. You've got two games left, unless you've been busy adding more to your mound... ;)
I guess I can add some games that I need to beat, I will add more as i think of them..
Dracula X
Mario Sunshine
Jack and Daxter
Maximo
FF3
Dark Angel
There was an article in GMR about buying a ton of games and not playing them, or looking foward to a game for a really long time, then finally getting it and playing it for all of 5 hours before you let it sit there and collect dust. Not because you don't like it; just because.
I try to do this as little as possible. :)
Super Smash Brothers
Mark of Kri
