This thread is an attempt to consolidate the previous monkey-only competition with a long, long overdue normal rank competition for Strikers 1945 II.

The Rules: 1 credit only, default settings for each category. Please list name, score, plane used and stage reached in the format used above.

Normal score: 1,181,900 - Rob / F5U (Flying Pancake) -- 1-8

Note: This is the neutered U.S. PSX version, so I\'m stuck with Original 1, if that makes any competitive difference.

I've heard this game is very similar to Gunbird 2 and have been meaning to pick it up for a while, but one thing I need to know is if there's a TATE mode in the domestic PSX version.

Nice score -- you must have been very close to hitting the loop. I'm using the NA PSX rev as well, though hopefully not for much longer. I highly doubt there are any scoring differences of note between the different modes, so no sense in segregating them until someone can prove otherwise.

Final Boss Strategy

I was pretty close. I think I was on the third form of the final boss. I'll have to try again soon.

I've got a copy of the game sitting in my room right now just waiting to be opened.....but I am still debating whether or not I should return it or keep it....

If you got the game for fairly cheap, I'd bust it open. But if you do dig the game, chances are good you'll be wanting to pick up the import eventually.

What would be a good score for where I got on this last run? My medal collecting skills need some work I think.

I usually have 610,000-630,000 at the end of 5. Going into 7 I think I have about 800,000 typically.

Seems about right. I didn't get too far into 6. ;)
