It bothers me too, you would figure since they no longer have to deal with hardware and can solely focus thier efforts on games that they would be able to do thier own games :confused:
1, I can't believe you all dislike the boxart so much. On second thought I don't think it's great or anything, the faces are a bit strange... but I still do think it's decently designed and I am pleasantly susprised. What they obviously did was try to match the style of Phantasy Star Online, which sold really well.. and that makes sense to me.
2, All of Sega's GBA games so far have been fantastic. ChuChu, Sonic, Puyo, Baseball advance, and so on. I'll admit that Altered Beast looks a bit dodgy, but I am not an AB fan anyway... so, basically to answer Yoshi's question. I am not worried or concerned about what Sega's doing on GBA. If 1-2 games out of about 15+ don't come out perfectly, that's still a pretty darn good percentage.. and we don't even know if Shinobi/AB are going to end up bad anyway.
3, I love the original Phantasy Star box art... and that game is my favourite game in the series. But it's also the game I have played the most, by far. So that might just be nostalgia/familiarity speaking.
I wonder what the music will sound like in Phantasy Star Collection. It will probably be higher quality but will it sound too different from the originals?
RPGFan has a preview of Phantasy Star Collection at their site. From what they said it seems that PS4 wasn't in the collection cause 128-bit carts cost too much...boo!!!

Compared to what the box art for PS 2, 3, and 4 looked like, that is a significantly major improvement, IMHO.

I have no idea why everyone hates the PS2 box art. It's got the classic Western fantasy look.
Put it alongside the covers to the Golden Axe games for instance, or say, Wings of Wor. Stuff by Boris Vallejo. It looks good, damnit.
And the PS3 cover is nice too.
The GBA compilation on the other hand, seems to be following a trend of re-issues on the portable system in terms of box art: bright color schemes and cutesy anime.

I honestly hope they add an auto map function. I didn't even have graph paper, so I had to draw them and put dots representing steps, and if I got distracted and had to come back, there goes a fucking map.
