No offense, Hero, but what more can 2d do?
Do you want to see GBA cel shaded games or something? Aside from that, I'm not sure what the difference is between this generation's 2d games and the 16 bit generation. Obviously you're not going to get hi-res out of the GBA, so I'm not sure what you're complaining about...
And the GBA does have 2d games in spades, so relax... one company trying to pursue the perfect 3d engine won't kill it. I mean, just look at Castlevania: White Night Concerto/Harmony of Dissonance for an example of some awesome 2d effects on the GBA.
The main limiter of GBA 2d is just the crappy resolution. Maybe if Nintendo designed it with TV-output in mind, companies would try to make games with better resolutions. But with cart sizes and no TV-out in mind, you're stuck with graininess whether you like it or not.
