Anyone know how common the 2 different versions are?
The first version which I see many place has a anniversary logo in the corner.
The second one is labeled Collector's edition plus a color Mega Man anthology booklet that has a timeline of the Mega Man games bundled. Plus unreleased Japenese art.
I assume the one version with the history booklet would be harder to come by.
Anyone have info?

I would imagine they would be pretty hard to find. I have the regular MM8 game, so I don't know about any others that I can find around me.
Zidane so there wasn't a anthology book with yours?

Nope, I don't have one. Mine is just the regular game. If there was, I don't have it.
Anyone else have any info? Otherwise I will buy it and try to see the variation myself and post here.

I've got the original version with the booklet.
The booklet, if I remember correctly, is very small, similar to one of those ads NAMCO used to package with their games. nothing at all to get worked up over.
Well I finally found a new copy of Mega Man 8 Collector's edition, it wasn't easy, had to go searching out of town for it.
I also notice there is a Greatest Hits Mega Man 8 so I guess there are 3 Domestic versions of the packaging if your into that sort of stuff...
The booklet makes the SA 2 one look like a damn encyclopedia by comparison.
Yeah, I think the Japanese version (Rockman 8) had a much better artwork book but even though I have Rockman 8, they must've stopped including it when it became a "Best for Family" series (like Greatest Hits but in Japan). It may or may not be true though.
I think the US Saturn version also had a special booklet...
