FF Tactics on the GBA to be original game?

New details from Square suggest that the Final Fantasy Tactics game appearing soon on the Gameboy Advance may not be the original PSX game with added scenarios, as previously thought.

It instead seems that the game will be brand new and will feature a new cast of characters. It is still uncertain whether or not the game will use the same job system as the first Tactics.

The game is also said to support link cable battles and custom scenario creation. Makes you all tingly, doesn't it?


Would LOVE for it to be true, but the "new details" is kinda suspicious without an official press release or other such link.

Ok, I'm a bit confused now. I posted the GBNext news update from PlanetGameCube. Their exact words are:

It's been officially confirmed that FFT for the GBA will now be a new game. Woo hoo!

On the other side of things though, Seiken Densetsu for the GBA will be a remake of the original Game Boy game (known to you and me as Final Fantasy Adventure). That's better than nothing I suppose.

I thought the new Castlevania being moved from PS2 to GBA would kill me. This sends me to some lower layer of the abyss where I wound up.

Yes, hopefully this bodes well for other games I loved having long awaited sequels... on the GAME BOY. Thanks Nintendo and Square.
