This month's EGM has a not so subtle hint that those of us who plan on buying House of the Dead III will love.
They also mention a light gun coming from Mad Catz. :DQuote:

I would like to know what kind of light guns will be available in Japan for HotD3. It sure the hell isn't Mad Catz...
I remember seeing the HotD1 in HotD2 hoax shots way back when, now it looks like it will become a reality in HotD3 form.

The choppiness did it in for me. I was willing to put up with the cut-down graphics at the time... but when the frame rate goes south like it does, uh-uh.
Sega should've done the port theirselves rather than outsourcing it to Tantalus.

I think Tantalus also ported Wipeout to the Saturn. But I may be wrong because it's been a while. Dunno if they handeled Virtual On.
Yep, Tantalus ported Wipe Out to the Saturn. They also ported House of the Dead and Manx TT to PC.

Anyway, HOTD3 is already on my "must-own" list, even if HOTD and HOTD2 aren't included.
I just have a feeling that Virtual On for Saturn wasn't handeled by Tantalus, for some reason. I have no idea why I think this, but there must be a reason I have some doubt.

I'm not American so could someone please let me know just how reliable EGM are for this sort of thing? I'm buying HOTD3 regardless of any extras but this would be so sweet.
Sidez, based on EGM's track record, I would set the opening odds at 50/50. However, this wasn't in their rumor section. It was a hint in the HotD3 preview.

I've played HOTD2 many times on my 52" Mitsubishi (rear projection) with both the Mad Catz guns and the SoJ gun. No problems at all.Quote:

I understand that some guns don't work well with some TVs (projection or otherwise), but I wouldn't necessarily assume that you will encounter any problem.

I'm not sure, but I believe that MadCatz and at least one other 3rd party have already confirmed the release of their own light guns to coincide with the release of HotD3.
DO NOT GET THIS GAME FOR THE SATURN!!!!! The flicker that appears when you pull the trigger is so bad when playing 2 player that you can't even see. Looked ok for a Saturn game but sucked ass!!!Quote:

Heh, I'd love a home version of that gun. I hope they do something like that for the Japanese release since we're going to be stuck with the Mad Catz gun, El Ugly 2000.
Tantalus' Manx TT on Saturn was OK.
I'm sure it was CRI (Galaxy Force II for Saturn, After Burner III for FM Towns & Sega CD) who ported Virtual On to Saturn.
Has it been verified that the Mad Catz gun isn't a shotgun? It would be crime not playing the game with a sweet li'l pump-action. ;)
