It's a life sim. Everything takes place in real time so when it is 5 pm at your house it's 5pm in the game. You start on a train heading to the towm(you name it) you have no cash but someone sets you up with Tom. He lets you pick one of 4 houses. To pay him off though you have to be his bitch for a while. You even have to wear a uniform. Once you pay him off you could still do jobs for him or just be a bum. Your house starts off small but you can upgrade to make it bigger, get a second floor and a basement. You don't start out with an NES right away but once you get one you can play the games with out a GBA. There is lots of things you can get for your house, and if you order through Tom's catalouge then just like in the real world your going to have to wait 2-3 days for shipping.Things you can do are fishing, catching insects, make your own clothes, music, and signs. There is a lot more like morning exercise from 6 to 7 having scavenger hunts and so on. Remote trading one of the cooler aspects of the game. Say you know someone who lives across the country or town(whatever) and it's his B-day. You could send him a rare item or NES game. All you have to do is go to Tom's give him your friends character name and town name and then Tom will give you a code. You give that code to your friend and he gives it to his Tom and presto he gets your gift, neat. There is so much I havn't metioned yet, if you have any more qeustions just ask.
StormShadow, whats so appealing about this game?
The game is best compared to the Harvest Moon series. However, It's rather different, because you are not tied down be the restrictions of everyday farm chores. The game is mighty appealing because of it's open ended gameplay, being able to visit other cities, and tons of other stuff too numerous to mention.

Now that we know the NES games are the only redeeming quality, which ones are in there? ;)
I find it appealing as a massive time consumer. I go through theses droughts of nothing I want to buy or play. I look at this game as something I can always go back to even if I just play it for an hour a day.
I know I'll probably just dick around for hours making my clothes. If you need non stop action in your gaming diet than this is not for you, but for others there is a lot of things in this game to take up your time. I really like the real time aspect. If you miss a certain holiday or event you wont see it for another year. Also if you know someone else with this game you can put their memory card in and go visit their town. No 2 towns are the same. You can even convince animals from your friends town to move to your town, or you could chop down all of his trees, make traps for your friend to fall in, send him hate mail. I know it sounds all a little childish but I think a lot of people might be surprised when this game comes out. Also you get an NES! I already have two but hell I'm still excited.
I think it sounds pretty fun. I like strange games like this. :)
The list of games isn't confirmed yet for the NoA version.
The ones that are known I think are
Tennis
Pinball
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
Clu Clu Land
I think Punch Out
and more
I know the japanese one had Legend of Zelda but don't know for sure if it's on the NoA one.
When you move into your house you get a grab bag from Nintendo that contains one or two NES games a song and some other stuff.
Well, It does sound like a very neat concept, my I prefer more action oriented gaming :) Cant really say I care about any simulation games.
Whats the name Animal Crossing got to do with the game though?
The inhabitants of the town are animals. I think Animal Crossing is playing off those signs you see on the side of the street. "Moose Crossing" is the most common around here. You don't want to cross those fuckers.Quote:
