Preparing for new Castlevania: My GBA is geared up and ready to go :)
TV adapter repaired and ready to go! :) Seems the last mod I did to my GBA (RGB output) was one mod too many and the TV adapter ribbon cable went caput. That was several months ago and I just haven't been motivated to fix the darn thing. The Afterburner was working fine so I could see the screen anyway. Well, with Castlevania being so close I finally got my motivation and $4 later I have a new ribbon cable installed.
First thought: Now I can rest knowing my Castlevania experiance will be un-soiled.
Second thought: Damn! Gradius Galaxies looks great in RGB! Seriously, when I first installed the RGB it worked for about 2 seconds before the ribbon cable broke. Now that I can actually see it I am totally blown away. Highly recommended mod. Just be more careful than me. :)
I think Castlevania just might be my most highly anticipated new release this year. Mario, Beach Spikers, and Monkeyball might just have to take their places in line and wait. :D I see many sleepless nights slaying Axe Armors and tiny bats in my future.
Just to make this thread all the more unfocused and meandering: I noticed that Castlevania edged out Mario for GotM in this month's EGM. That's pretty impressive! So, when do you think Konami is going to realize that maybe, just maybe, people actually like these Castlevania games and make a propper 2D console release? I mean, cmon'. If your Gameboy effort impresses people enought to beat out Nintendo's console best then surely those same people would be all over a console Castlevania.

And with very, very good cause.
