Basically Sqoon you'll either find the game to be a nice, relaxing, simple alternative to all the intense shmups, fighters, and action games out there, its a nice game to sit down and unwind with and just..well...play! Just running around, killing things with your spear, bringing food to your village, watching it grow, collecting tusks...just good clean fun!
...or boring, mind-numbingly repetetive actions from the other perspective. Its all about the state of mind your in when you play it, really, in my opinion. Either it will be as a gentle massage to your gaming instincts, or a sleep aid. In either case, it wouldn't hurt to track down a cheap copy of the game and give it a spin :)

I liked it a good bit. I mean, you get to hit oddly colored animals with sticks! What could be better than that....
....ok, a lot of things could be. But it's still pretty fun. The caveman/woman falls asleep too often, though...

We used to stick this game in the demo systems when I worked at Funcoland, to keep kids from hanging around. It worked like a charm.
-
It's a quirky little game. I picked it up for 50 center from BlockBuster, quite worth the money.
-
I rented it back when it came out and played it for the entire weekend.
It's a very creative game much like the other Artdink titles and you either love that or you hate it.
Either way, there need to be many many more companies that aren't afraid to release something original/innovative/quirky like these games.
It's also the game that first demonstrated the design flaw in the PSX involving the power plug and poor construction of the PCB in the unit.
Damn thing reset everytime someone sneezed due to loose connections on the board. POS Sony construction

the only way i'd recommend this game with a straight face would be to an insomniac..

I loved this game due its pure randomness. You run around aimlessly, whacking small animals with sticks and eating them, and whenever you go to sleep your character just slides into the ground with no warning! Great stuff, but not because it's a well-made game, but because it's so random and funny.
I highly recommend this game, I enjoyed my time with it immensely. Until someone STOLE my copy! Who in God's name would willingly steal Tail of the Sun? WTF?!

I LOVE Tail of the Sun! It's one of my fave PS games, and is fairly high on my all-time fave games list. It's not a visual slendor...but I just LOVE the design and style of the game...the cute and quirky nature of it, the relaxing tone, the awesome ambient, tribal music overtones that chime in every now and then...this game truly is a hit or miss and it's a big time hit with me. Pop that soundtrack in a CD player for aural joy too. Hehe man, I LOVE Tail of the Sun!
