Hehe... you bashtard....
Hehe... you bashtard....
I'm still missing a few I really want like Valkrie Profile and some of the Suikoden games but mostly the ones I bought I think are the best:
1-Metal Gear Solid
I first saw the game at a friends house and I was blown away at how cinematic yet great the game was. It introduced great concepts like the shaky rumble in the Sniper Wolf boss fight and the Psycho Mantis encounter was the coolest thing ever at it's time.
2-Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
I thought it was sucky at first because it went back to 2D and especially after seeing Resident Evil for the first time. How naive I was. Fast forward a few years and now I think it's a masterpiece of a Castlevania and 2D game. Great music, awesome graphics even if it was easier than the othe Castlevania games it was great fun.
3-Tekken 3
Despite most of this forum's hatred towards anthing Tekken, even with all it's unbalanced characters I found it so fun and great looking. It had so many fighting styles it blew me away and not to mention the hard yet very awesome Tekken Beach ball and Tekken Force mode. Today I still play it on Bleemcast and on 'smooth texture' settings on my PS2.
4-Crono Cross
Saw my cousin play it and thought it had great graphics at the time and still does have great cinemas and graphics/music. I'm not too far into it yet but so far it ranks up there with Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2 s one of my fave RPG's. Great game, great character designs and good story.
5-Guilty Gear
Sadly I don't own it but I spent so many hours playing it since it was real fun and kicked every other fighters ass graphically at the time. You would have thought it was a Saturn game with all the animaiton and great designs in there. I hope I can find this again and I WILL destroy Justice one day.
6-Gundam Battle Assault 2
I love mostly the whole Gundam Universe so this was a real treat to me, what was better was that the fighting engine was really solid and really fun. On of the few new releases I thought kicked ass.
7-Final Fantasy Tactics
I haven't played it but seems everyones fave.
8-Breath of Fire 4
Has great character designs from what I've seen. Own it but haven't played it, I liked BOF2 on GBA so this shoulc be pretty cool.
9-Castlevania Chronicles
Great classic old school Castlevania slightly remade.
10-Legend of Dragoon
Played it at my cousin's house and I liked what I saw. Character designs kick so much ass I wish this game was remade again. I plan on buying this soon.
Castlevania SOTN
MediEvil
I.Q.
Resident Evil
Parasite Eve
Vagrant Story
PaRappa
Devil Dice
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Strikers 1945
And yes, Fatal Frame is leagues better than Silent Hill.
1. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
2. Xenogears
3. Tenchu
4. Resident Evil
5. Elemental Gearbolt
6. Atari Collection 1
7. Raiden Project
8. Tomb Raider
9. Final Fantasy VII
10. Medal of Honor: Underground
Damn limits of a top 10 list. Top PSX games ever would include FFT, Persona, SotN, Twisted Metal one and two, and the Destruction Derby games.

*gasp* I thought I was the only one! Seriously, I loved following the moronic AI into walls and such. I've pretty much completely mastered the art of falling over things. I haven't played it in a while though... there was a time when I played it non-stop. I enjoy(ed) it for some strange reason, but I'll be the first to admit the game is ass. One must be weary of the commentary before and after the races, given by, well, either a boy or a girl. It's really hard to tell.
Anyway, choosing certain games over others is something I don't want to attempt, so here is a list of a bunch of games that I can think of off the top of my head that deserve to be on such a list (in no order):
Final Fantasy VII- It’s scary to think how many hours I probably played this game. Best towns, world, etc. of any RPG.
Metal Gear Solid- Story, gameplay, everything about this is great
Jumping Flash 1- The JF series is classic. Lots of fun
Jumping Flash 2
Final Fantasy Tactics- I’m nowhere near completion, but I’ve played enough to know how great the game is
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo- Here’s another one I’ve played too many hours to comprehend
Ridge Racer- First PS racer and a wonderful game. Finally beating the black car was sooo cool :)
Wild Arms- Great game doesn’t deserve to be in my pile of shame, but alas, it is. I’m at the very ending in Malduke too.
Lunar Silver Star Story- I love the Lunar games. Good fun
Lunar 2 Eternal Blue
Castlevania Symphony of the Night- Who says the PS can’t do 2D? Excellent score too.
Rayman- One of my first PS games. Another excellent 2D game
Parappa- Short but wonderful
Um Jammer Lammy- Longer and just as wonderful
Kartia- Great strategy title
Street Fighter Alpha 3- World Tour mode= excellent idea.
Eh... lots more… but I'm tired of typing.
This list includes games released in North America and Europe only.
In descending order:
1. Vagrant Story
2. Wipeout 3
3. Ape Escape
4. R-Type Delta
5. Valkyrie Profile
6. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
7. Chrono Cross
8. Final Fantasy Tactics
9. Strider 2
10. Front Mission 3
Yeah, but this thread is to make a composite "All TNL" list.Quote:

They did it by editor (they also did their top PS2 games; it was for their 5th anniversary issue):Quote:

All in all, not bad choices. I wouldn't make any of those my list, but on the other hand I'm not offended by any of them either. I decided to do a top 10 here because 5 just isn't enough.
I'm not keeping track of what place you enter them in (although if it's really important to you, go ahead and do it). Each entry on someone's list gets a game one vote for the master list. Doing it that way helps keep Army Men games off the list ;)Quote:

Really? I'd have to see that to believe it. I haven't played it yet because quite frankly, the "taking pictures to trap the ghosts" aspect of it sounds completely gay. But since it's gotten 2 ringing endorsements in this thread, I'll check it out.Quote:

Actually, I said list your 10 favourite PS games, wiseguy. So I'll just assume that Thugg's right, and you're insane. (but then nobody ever reads the first post in a thread the whole way, do they?)Quote:

Heh, I figured it would be up your alley. The main guy looks a heck of alot like Sol Badguy...Quote:

I wouldn't say that; the first Extreme Games was great - everyone (even Gamefan) gave it really high reviews back in the day, and I had a ton of fun with it too - it's still one of the coolest ideas for a racer I've seen. It was after the first one that the series took a nosedive, and when Tony Hawk came along it just buried the series.Quote:

Speaking of which, I can't believe nobody's voting for Tony...
Tobal 2, bitches.
and, I vote all 10x for that.
Ive put raiden dx in place of r type delta. I just played through the game today , and it wasnt as fun as it used to be.
