TV Animation X
From NCS:
Drawing easy comparisons to Taito's Psychic Force, TV Animation X pits two combatants inside a transparent cube which floats above a modern cityscape dotted with skyscrapers in the background. Inside the cube, the airborne warriors punch, kick, and fire off salvoes of illuminated projectiles at each other. The original Psychic Force faltered in the gameplay department where a cheap player was able to hit and run for the duration of a match. TVX solves this by allowing for dash moves which closes the distance between two fighters quickly. A temporary shield move also forces players to get up close and battling in order to inflict damage. Each order for TVX will include a 300-piece jigsaw puzzle.

Hmm... I can't tell if I'm too interested because I haven't had any first-hand experience with Psychic Force.
Can anyone offer impressions or links to some reviews or the like?

Psychic Force 2012 added the dash move, but the gameplay is still... lacking. I compare it to Bloody Roar. That is its fun for a time, but its too shallow for any lasting commitment. You should be able to pick up PF 2012 dirt cheap now so you can get a feel of what this game might be like.

I disagree. I thought Psychic Force would have a lot of depth for those that spend the time with it. I did not care to do that though, and people preferred something else for VS. but yeah, Its cheap now, and the depth I thought could be found may not exist, I have no idea.

It's based on X1999? Slick! I must have!
The voice of November: "Not hardly, young one."
Noooo! I will find a way! Somehow I will obtain the money!
Shame it doesn't sound like you can smack buildings around (or people into buildings) like occasionally in X, but it sounds worth a go. Psychic Force was good dumb fun in the sort of way any cheesy figher is (except Tekken, we don't need cheese coupled with slow response, that's not fun on any level).

I have played Psychic Force 2012 quite a bit since I liked it as a different sort of fighter, but really it has about the same level of depth as the Bloody Roar series, which is not much. It's cheap fun, but it wouldn't have been worth $50.
