Ok, who's checking out Omnimusha 2 in a few days (like you havent already been asked)

Ok guys, not being a frequent poster, but trying to keep up with whats going on, just thought i would see who is going to check out the "sequel" to what was probably my earliest positive first impression on the ps2. I didnt get into the ps2 games very quickly, although i owned mine on the first day. But this game kinda jump started me into kinda being interested in the system more than i had been up until that time (Red Faction later really got the pulse up). Although many of my games have been rentals on the ps2, including Omnimusha, and no doubt the sequel, there have been some very fun games, and no doubt will be many more on this well supported system. I will chyme in eventually, and certainly mention how im feeling about this game, and some of what we are all (Tenchu 3 for me!) looking forward to. Hope everyone is having fun, whatever they are playing, etc.......

Well, Definately me :) I'm probably one of few people who actually liked orignal Onimusha. Sure it was on the short side, and that infamous water puzzle was aggravating for some(not me, I passed it after a couple of tries), but I loved the setting, Boss fights were still good(Damn Queen Bee Demon fight was Hard), and Samonuske was a cool hero. Beautiful graphics, and some awesome CGI movies were also a cool extra.

And with Onimusha 2 being twice as long as orginal, having more weapons, enemies, characters and hopefully secrets. I played it a little at my GameStop, and it looks beautiful. In the beginning, Jubei fights enemies in the pooring rain, and its a wonderful effect.

It still uses the RE layout though, its probably would have better with DMC style controls with Analog stick controlling your character, but it still very playable. I know that Onimusha 3 will have Analog controls, and will present all real time environments simular to DMC.

I have this game on reserve, and I can get it tomorrow evening, when store gets it, since the guy called me about it, but I'm too lazy to drive across town at night just to get the game :) I will simply get it on Wednesday morning, from work, since I work just 3 blocks away from the mall :)

Sweet, and i agree, Despair, it was a fun game for me too, i was surprised, having played all the RE types, etc, that Omnimusha kept me very interested through and through. I kinda look at it as the game that really was my "jump start" into the system. I was very occupied with Everquest at that time, and was oh so ready to get back into console gaming. Im glad this game came along, and will always look forward to what Capcom has in store in the future for it......

I won't be getting it right away but since I loved the first game, I will be getting it some time. I await impressions from you guys.

I really liked the first one and I'd like to try out this one. I loved the ending movie and found the whole game to be a fun change from Resident Evil. I had no idea it was due out soon. Is it this week?

I'm holding off on it for a bit, I liked the original, but didn't LOVE it (though I am waiting for Genma to drop to $20). I'll wait for awhile on Onimusha 2, there'll likely be an abundance of pre-owns within a few weeks of its release. Mebbe then...

I always wanted ot play Onimusha but after playing RE and DMC it doesn't feel like a must play anymore. I'm definitely getting 2 but I want to play 1 first especially at 20 bucks on PS2 which I heard isn't really that different from the X-Box version.

It's a great game, and expands quite a bit beyond the original's design, but my two biggest beefs are that:

1. There is no analog control (what the?)

2. No Japanese voice-over option. (Not to mention the English voices they did get are horrendous).

All in all though, very good game and excellent fun.

I beleive its due out today, im going to rent it either way, and will give you all some impressions. I just finished Mark of Kri, so im raring and ready for action!!

Well, It will arrive to the stores tonight. But officially goes on sale tomorrow(Wednesday 28th).

Yes, The game still have RE style d-pad controls, and not DMC like Analog support. But as I said before, it will be changed in Oni 3.

I replayed some parts of the original last week, to tape some of the CGI from the game(I collect those), and it still pretty fun, and definately faster and more action packed then RE series.
