CyperUppercut is back ...with a Neo MVS cab!
Ahhh... found my old avatar and got it working again. No one probably noticed but I was gone from the forum for awhile while I got my work life into some reasonable shape. But now I'm stable and the proud owner of a Neo-Geo cab! :)
Spent the last month working on this sucker. Bought a MVS 25 cab for $250, but it was extremely dirty. I spent a couple days cleaning it up and its still a little dirty (didn't even want to touch the back of the monitor its filthy). I eventually learned how to adjust the coin mech to accept quarters. Then I got a dusty six slot board and cleaned it up installed the sucker into the cabinet! I'm pretty excited about it and just wanted to show it off. :p
Its the first cabinet I've ever owned. In a couple of months, I want to buy an new controller overlay for it and get new buttons and joysticks for it. The sticks and button are good right now, but I want some concave buttons and maybe some bat shaped joysticks. The only problem I know of is that the Japanese overlay may not fit american sticks and buttons so I've got to figure that out. Since I knew aboutsolutely nothing when I started I can say I've learned a good amount about arcade cabs in the past month, but I know I still have a lot more to figure out...
Here's a before and after picture of the cab:
