Just started playing for score a few days ago... this is the first time I've managed to get past 2-2 on one credit. Now I need to learn how to actually beat 3-2, since I can't credit-feed it anymore...
I finally beat Normal difficulty without a continue... 55,123,622 points, 2296 HIT, 46:19. ^_^
After the first couple times I played through the game, I started skipping the cutscenes, but now I find myself watching them again. The style, the story, the characters... it's just so awesome.
Started replaying this today, but on my first go I died against the Spider Seemer :cry: I'm rusty...

Nice! I'm waiting for my N64 RGB cable at the moment. I would like to work on milking points from bosses, Octpus Seemer has to be worth a ton of points.

I improved my score by a million; still not enough to regain my 2nd place.

But with only 2346 hits... less than my old hi-score... must be from yellow score bonuses or something. I went un-hit until I got to the Raptor Seemer (I jumped up into one of his gemini lasers :cry: ) then I lost my composure and kept getting hit... and then I fucked up on the side-scrolling level... spent too long killing the "New Food Source" (those snail-lizards) and lost lotsa time... I almost died :cry:

Oh, and Valgar, I tried Octpus(sic) Seemer "milking". It's possible, but the large ruffians will give you a real hard time. I gave up fairly quickly at trying it, I still think he will dissappear like the Raptor Seemer, or ESPLODEIFICATE like all Radiant Silvergun bosses.
Not bad.. but I've improved my score by a million and a half. :D After an aborted playthrough where I died on literally the last bullet before the final boss.

It's not that hard to milk the Octpus Seemer... the arms only regerate once each, giving you a dozen bonus targets total. Unless there's something more I don't know about. (That said, I screwed up and almost died before the Spider Seemer... but it went well in practice)
I get hit waaaaay too much, and I finally realized that's why the bonus gems keep resetting. Still not sure how the score from a commander bonus is calculated. Are there any hints/tips/etc about this game aside from what's on GameFAQs? Or skilled gameplay videos, or other ranking tables (Japanese sites, maybe)? Anything interesting out there?
My FAQ on GameFAQs is probably the most comprehensive Sin & Punishment "hints/tips/etc" I've been able to find, If I so say myself.
Most of the Japanese sistes just have scripts and rankings.
The Japanese HS is more than 100 mill - you basically have to neverget hit, get every yellow score bonus and the perfect bonus.

If you get the "PERFECT BONUS" on the Final Boss, which is achieved by
not letting a single projectile hit the earth, you get a whopping 5,000,000 bonus.
Now if you get the Perfect Bonus then the "EARTH LIFE BONUS" , which is how much life the earth has left (MAX 50,000 x 100) will automatically net you another 5,000,000.
Now add in Yellow Diamond Bonus points, Bonuses from defeating the boss, and shooting every damn thing on screen. You can get 11,000,000+ Points just from the last boss!
You just need to the learn the patterns and it isn't actually that hard. I wanted to know how much you got for that Bonus, and it was well worth it. I just used practice mode for about 15 minutes and tried it over and over.
Well, I finally dug out my N64 after packing it away a few months ago, and decided I'd give Sin and Punishment another chance (I had only mustered a highscore of 13 million before I packed everything away). Anyway, I managed to beat the game on a single credit after 2 days with the game. Not sure what was holding me back before.
