I'ne gotten the dot eater rank a few times. Do you get a bonus at all for this rank? I don't think I ever noticed one, but hey I've missed much mor obvious things.
(2P ship is better!)
A few questions for you boys. I want to get the facts straight before I start humiliating you (myself?) with my supreme (sucky?) scores:
- No continuing, correct?
- Max Chain - is this your overall best, or the max chain you recieved during your best score run?
- The chaining works by getting three of the same color in a row, and doing this many times in succession, correct? And switching colors can still keep the chain going as well, right?

Yes. Kill three white ships, then kill another three white or three black and you will be chaining. But you can't mix them up--for example, if you have killed two whites you must get one more to keep the chain going. This makes for tough strategy at times. I was doing so well...going into the second boss I had over 3 million and a full stock of lives. (well, thanks to the extend!) I can't BELIEVE how badly I blew it.
Getting better at chaining that bit at the very end of stage one...anyone have any tips on when to chain the second set of little ships to come straight down the middle? I always end up getting confused eventually and missing most of them.

I finally broke 2,000,000 so I figured I'd finally report my new score. :)
My chaining on Ch 1 is really coming along brilliantly. I can make it all the way to the boss on a single chain now, but I must admit I skip a few dodgy parts that mess up the chain so I am only pulling in around 50... :p
Chapter 2 is still crazy for me... I can't do any long chains, just a few small ones in the first half. The beginning sequence is a nightmare.. and final 3rd I just try to survive.. and I can't beat the boss yet, but I can survive and let the clock run out. Argh...
I've only made it to Ch 3 on 1 credit this one time, but I made it really far on one life so I am proud. I can't complain.. I am making steady progress. Good work for a shmup n00b! :)

well i had my spot at 5th at least for a little while.
course i had 2 stupid deaths on chapter 2, and if i didnt screw up my chapter 1 chain i wouldve had another guy. died on the chapter 3 boss...thought about just letting time run out to get some more points on chapter 4 but i crashed into the rotating thingy in the middle anyways of course
