Appreciating Boxart: Post the best pic

While I was in London last week I picked up a copy of Edge. Wow, what a great magazine. One interesting article covered the history of boxart. It was really neat to see such a wide variety of boxart displayed in one place. One odd thing though, is it just me or does the Atari 2600 have the most interesting and creative boxart of all time?

I could scan it and make it cleaner, but I don't really have the time. Of late I've been wild over anything Driller style. I forget homeboy's name but he also just designed that Star TRigon game for Namco as well. Brilliant stuff.

LOL I was just about too. Easily the worst box ever.

I think the Famicom had pretty nifty box arts.

My all time favourite box arts are Don Doko Don and Monster World 4. Gotta love the 'cine. Funny how they happen to be among my favourite ever games too.

You mean the Mega Drive Monster World that was never released here? The box art for that game is incredible, done in clay and all. Classic.

I love those silver Atari 2600 boxes. The art there just screams classic arcade and makes me wish I had a 2600 right now. :(

Now where in the hell did I put that pic of the Mega Man boxart...
