Anybody think that it would'nt be that hard for Capcom or some other enterprising company (ehem..Nintendo) to make an alternate game pad with a more user friendly button layout? Am I crazy? I am? Never mind. Sorry. No, really. I am.

Well, We all heard the rumors about upcoming Capcom fight pad for Cube. But I havent seen anything materialize yet. It WOULD BE GREAT though, since Cube's pad is not the best for fighting games. Both button and D-pad wise.
Yes you are.
The standard GC pad is fantistic for fighting games.
Wait a minute, what GC fighters?
Well, There IS Bloody Roar Primal Fury, which is NOT BAD fighting game :)
GCN Fighters:
SSB:Melee
Bloody Roar
MVC2: EO
Soul Calibur 2 is on the way
thats it?
Well, there's ahhh..and um...Bloody Roar? um and ah Super um....I guess I'm just hoping to somehow pull CvSnk out of the potty somehow, but I guess it's rather hopless. Platformers it is then!
The Cube controller wouldn't be great for 2D fighters, but I think it fits 3D fighters perfectly well. Use the analog stick like a joystick, and the rest of the buttons are perfectly laid out for a game like SC2 (it's easy to combine the A button with the other three face buttons). The C-stick could be used for 3D movement or whatever.
Pads and fighters don't mix IMO, so the stock pad when it comes to fighters is completely irrelevant. I always buy a joystick anyway. I hope ASCII comes up with a GC version of their Fight Stick FT. That's gotta be the best mass produced joystick ever.
i have a PSX - GC adaptor for when CvS2 EO comes out
and there are like 3 different arcade sticks coming out for it
plus if theres enough demand for it im sure ascii will make some thing
Psssst... CVS2: EOQuote:

Umm... and? Were you going somewhere with this?Quote:
besides fighters havent really been that popular lately, vf 4 sold really well, but beyond that, the sf2 days are past.
the controller really isn't too bad for CvS2:EO, it just takes a LOT of getting used to. Not to mention the GC-ism is the cheapest thing. Ever.
Yoo, thats all you need right there  Hopefully Capcom releases that fight stick soon, otherwise Im gonna have to get an X-Arcade or look around to see if theres a DC > GC converter.Quote:

Wow.
I like it....eeeeexcept..
Most arcade sticks have the curved button layout, Im fine with that....but this is going a bit too far. Oh well, it won't effect SC2 so Im not complaining. Lets just hope the stick itself is good, and its nice and heavy (Like the DC stick).

nuff said.
They had those Gamecube sticks at ECTS and they are shite. Just buy the Xbox Soul Calibur 2 and use the DC stick or PSX Namcos :)
I didn't even know this existed.Quote:

Damn. See, now I don't have a legitimate reason for buying a new pair of Sticks if/when Force comes out on the 'Box.
Right on the money!!!Quote:

The ball top works great with the AgeTec Arcade fighting stick, for the DC. I prefer it that way. I liked the PSX one also (Ascii).
The DC Agetec is godly. I can only hope and pray that this funky-looking GC stick feels the same.
Try the ASCII FT, it's like the Agetech but much better. It uses actual Japanese arcade parts, as opposed to the Agetech which uses cheaper knock offs. The cavity for the joystick is an octagon, so direction movements are very precise as the stick can rest in an impression, but rotation movements are still easy and comfortable to do since the impressions are smaller. It's a nice compromise between circular and square cavities. Much better than the Agetech's square cavity, which makes rolling motions jerky at best.
I still prefer Happ's components overall, but the Ascii is a very close second.
Wait, wait.
Are you trying to tell me people actually use first-party controllers?
I guess they like getting hit by cars/drowning themselves/falling off bridges as well.
