Mr Driller Ace
Does anyone know if Mr Driller A for Gameboy Advance is import friendly? I am sure it's playable but if there are tons of modes and options in Japanese that can be a bit annoying. Seems like a great game to play portably though.
Also, has a North American version been announced? I've been keeping an eye out but I may have missed it...
That is all. Thanks in advance. :)

I'd be interested to know the answer to this question as well. PaCrappa's been raving about this game, and he's definitely started to tempt me.

It's all so Japanese-like.

It's good... but it's incredibly text heavy. If you like Mr. Driller it is easily the best Driller game yet. Some of the new innovations (like in story mode you only lose air when you slash, not over time so it becomes much more strategic) are quite cool, but the text heaviness really gets in the way. Unfortunately Namco of America, bastards that we are, have no plans to ever port another Mr. Driller game to the US. But it is my understanding that there will be a Euro release of it in October and we are currently checking into that. If so I would definately suggest getting the Euro version so you can actually read the barrels and barrels of text.

Thanks for the info bbobb. :)
If there is going to be a Euro release then I'll definitely hold off and wait for that one! If that does not materialise though, I may just have to get the Japanese import. I wish I could read Japanese.... Even better, I wish that GBA games were like NGPC games with built in language options. Oh well, I hope it comes out in Europe. :)

Excellent.
Thanks for the tip, bbobb. I'll be awaiting news on the Euro release.

According to Nintendo Power's less than grand US release schedule, these titles are listed as coming to the US:
Mr. Driller Ace
Custom Robo EX (surprising)
Kirby
Final Fantasy Tactics (I'll believe it when I see it, Square USA has been mum on Nintendo support)
Titles not mentioned:
Klonoa 2
Magical Vacation
Fire Emblem
Shining Soul
Legend of Starfi
Black Matrix Zero (OK, I wasn't expecting it but...)

I'll be happy if Driller gets a domestic release, but honestly as long as it goes Euro I'll be happy enough.
As for the others, countless times I have read from various sources that Nintendo has confirmed releasing both Magical Vacation and Fire Emblem. I have also read that Shining Soul is one of the Sega games that THQ picked up to publish... I imagine these games will be confirmed shortly before they're released, sorta like Lunar which was only confirmed in NA last month but will be out any day now from Ubi-soft.
Oh well, I hope the *all* come out, but there is certainly no lack of quality software for GBA. :)

I want this game badly, but I'm willing to wait for a US or EURO release...

How is the Dreamcast Mr. Driller?
Worth $10 used?
And nice custom rank, Kabuki!
