If she was a threat to me or my family then hell yeah (maniac wielding machete etc), beat her face bloody. Gender doesn't come into it.
Otherwise no. It's pointless as shouting or throwing your weight around is much more effective and not as messy. I really can't imagine myself breaking a girl's nose though, that's just fucking wrong.
I dunno it all depends on the situation but I would hope I would not do it.

If she were coming at me with a knife, I'd put her in a hammerlock or something, but I would never hit a girl otherwise. If she were pissing me off, I would just walk away and avoid the situation entirely. You're not being a pussy for not hitting a girl, but you obviously are if you do.
I did once. A friend of an old girlfriend came up to me while I was shopping in the mall, and slapped me while calling me an asshole for breaking up with the girlfriend. As a reflex, my hand just cocked back and I knocked her out in the middle of the mall...

No. If I needed to stop a girl from being violent or something, then I would be much more effective by wrestling rather then hitting. If the girl is considerably larger then me *as in I cant wrestler her* then I probably would just run away or in the extreme case I would hit her with something.
