it's still september 8th for another 22+ hours here...:p
What a crappy inro. And you're too early.
Piracy didn't kill the DC, SEGA did.
Trust me, I read the post-mortem.
I still don't understand why didn't release Shenmue 2 in the US.
For that reason alone I hope Sega goes bankrupt for being stupid asses to this very day.
*Early News Alert*
and i don't understand what was so hard about importing it.. :P
Dreamcast will never die. :)
erm, shit. i forgot to add the 'as of monday' part.
fuck you, im not stupid.
Ehh, the good die young . . .
Actually, DC isn't dead. It's RETIRED, making a couple of reappearances in the gaming limelight every now and then. Kinda like Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan. Not sure how long that's gonna last though.
*sigh*
Even when a system gets no new games, if there's still stuff you play on it, then all is not lost. It's not like thanks to the death of the DC, no good games exist anymore...
Your a day early dude :p
But, hey, at least Treasure has helped us celebrate the DC's 3rd birthday in sytle with Ikaruga! :D
i think a system is 'dead' when you have to buy it used for the same as it costs new, except without the box and its.... you know, used.
im gonna get one next week. ive already got a few games, might as well play them at my house...
you still haven't got one yet? well where the f*ck were you?!?
I would like to wish the wonderful Sony PlayStation 2 an early "Happy Birthday" before its October 26 birthdate creeps up on me. Thanks for all the past and future memories, and thanks especially for being made by a company that supports its hardware instead of making stupid financial decisions and giving up.
SEGA-->"Waah! We suck! Let's can the DC like we did the Saturn, 32X, SegaCD and gamegear before. Now we can whore ourselves and spread our shitty sequels all around. Sure our games will still sell like shit but hey, were the original Emcees in this piece. And hey, it's not like we have a bad track record for failure or fucking up......ooops."
Yeah with Ikaruga and King of Fighters out recently and KOF'01 coming soon its reeeeal dead.
I hate this ooh the DCs dead and ooh I hope they make another Sega console bullshit. Its really pathetic.
It should always be about the games and anyway the DCs old hat now powerwise (for 3D, feel free to keep the 2D coming). I wouldn't want them doing a Neo Geo on us and make games on an out of date system just to satify fanboy monoconsole wankers.
I believe a system is only truly dead when you, the player, stop supporting it.
Dead is very subjective. Hell, the Atari Lynx never stopped having new games... Anyway, all I can say is that Ikaruga is a hell of alot more fun than anything I've played on Xbox, PS2 or GC recently.
Well, My first DC died less than a year after 9/9/99 :(
BUt my other is still alive and healthy :)
Isn't 9/9 (1995) the Playstation's birthday?
The Dreamcast's 4th Birthday is on 27th Nov 2002
Here's to the best console, with the most fun games I've ever owned... :(

I'm celebrating. In it's "death" DC has given me a early pick for game of the year with Ikaruga.
On the upside, the DC homebrew scene looks pretty good and though the chances are nil, a few Naomi/arcade ports may pop up. For instance, the TGS is supposed to have two DC games on display, I'm doubting these are Ikaruga and KOF 2000 since their runs will be sold out by then.
Play on... *-neo
Spoken like a true Sega whore!:bang: I like your style Golgo. That kind of talk around here will make for a bunch of sore pussies on all of the Sega fanboys.:D Anywho, It is also the Bday for the PSX and if memory serves me correctly the SNES.Quote:

now i really wish i had put FF8 off for another time.
i was actually thinking of buying one the day my mom bought me a PS2. then her fiance purchased a DC for his son, so all was well. then they ended up not getting married, and he sold the DC before i was able to buy/steal it from him.
so... stfu.
I guess that new release for the DUO super CD means it's not dead either? Please?!?!?
It's almost been a year since my first DC became paralyzed (controller ports failed), and I have since sold almost all of my DC games and peripherals... I couldn't afford another DC at the time, and I was mad that my less-than-a-year-old console died on me.
Happy B-day Dreamcast.
I was there on DC's birthday, took the day off from work got there early because EB opened up early, got my Dreamcast t-shirt, coupons and bag, not to mention a Dreamcast, Powerstone and Soul Caliber :)
Sega really did kill it off, they where coming off big loses from Saturn which they still hadn't recovered from and since Dreamcast didn't sell as well as they hoped they wheren't making much ground so they decided to cut thier loses and give up console making... can't say I didn't do my part trying to support it :(
Funny thing is the system that was competing with the Saturn is still getting support and outlived both of Sega's machines, Sega just didn't get any breaks in the console business... the only time they where on top of the console department was when they had NEC TurboGrafx as thier main competitor and that was mostly in the USA.
...depressing story.
I get more nostalgic over Saturn than Dreamcast because Saturn had better games.
Saturn had better games than the DC? Aw.. I guess so. To each his own. I could never muster any enthusiasm for any Staurn games (save for Nights, and save for the fact that I was too 'unlearned' in the ways of import).
Yay DC. The 128-bit TurboGrafx-16. Too bad you had to go and DIE on me. Now my 2-D fix comes from PS2. Dammit.
Are we really celebtrating the systems birth or cursing its existence?
:lol:Quote:

.....Sorry. :bang:
Hey, I get Iky on Monday, which will be my U.S. DC's 3rd birthday!
Happy birthday DC! Hope you like crap!
PS - Since it might not be painfully obvious, the latter was a reference to a Kenny G. joke made by Norm MacDonald on SNL a few years back, and in no way implies that Ikaruga is crap. Actually, it kinda does, but we all know that that is a big, fat lie, so let's ignore it and laugh at the memory of Norm's joke. Ha ha!
What the hell is the "R7" Dreamcast??
Was that a diss?Quote:
