So did sonic team or anyone affiliated with them, do RiStar? The general feel I got from it self like a sonic-ish game, but I was never sure.
Ristar? Are you serious?
I wasn't exactly planning on picking this up before, but if that's true, I'm sold.
Ristar > Sonic. It's a shame Sega didn't build off of that game instead of constantly rehashing the same Sonic engine. Maybe since it was a rather late Genesis release, it didn't have an oppertunity to catch on.
I still wish Sonic CD were here, though.
Awesome. Exposing Ristar to more people is a very good thing.
Using the "new look" Sonic for the package is odd and it's disturbing that games like Spinball are included while Sonic CD isn't. But overall, as long as these games are properly emulated I can't complain too much.
NGEFreek, Ristar was not done by Sonic Team.
Neo - I am aware of that, but I got the general Sonic Team feeling from that game, so I was curious :D
True. If it's the same level of emulation as the DC Smash Pack, then count me out. I want something with a little more effort put in it, and I don't want it forced into a high resolution like the Smash Pack was.Quote:

The gloves and the hand position certainly have a Sonic-like look to them.

Neo - have you ever seen the level intro screens? they looks alot like the sonic "jagged" style, and just the way Ristar moved, I dunno how else to describe it.
Yeah, those Ristar level intros were pretty similar to the Sonic games. BTW, what the heck is "Flicky"? Sounds familiar, yet I have no clue what it is.
Yep, I have seen all that stuff. There's no doubt that Ristar took inspiration from Sonic. But then again, a lot of 16-bit platformers did.
