Newbie to Morrowind looking for Veteran Advice

I am a Newbie to Morrowind(XBOX). I just started last night. I created a RedGuard , who has held his own so far. I found some decent weapons, and progressed on to the second town where I had to meet someone (can't remember his name).

I am new and I am enjoying the open play in the game. The world is HUGE and I know I have not scratched the surface.

I am just looking for some good tips or advice for a newbie to survive.

Also how do you make levels?

I killed a few guys (outside of town) and don't see any experience points going up?

any tips? Please respond

I think for every ten levels one of your primary skills increases, you get a level.

Tips for survival? Make a lot of friends...and kill everyone else. ;)

Read the manual first. Secondly, jump all of the time, fall from heights, sneak a lot, and try to avoid whatever armor isn't in your primary skills until later in the game.

Sorry, no, it says so in the Morrowind manual: "Stibbons is better than you."

The individual you are supposed to meet is most likely Caius Cossades. All I can really say is explore and enjoy the freedom. The character you've chosen is one of the stronger types in terms of warrior so once you start going up in levels you won't find much resistance after a while. My favorite part of the game was always going to explore Daedric ruins.

Use skills that benefit your class. These would include major and minor skills. When use use them for a while, the number out of 100 for the particular skill will go up. The amount of time it takes for a skill to level up depends if it's a major, minor, or misc. skill (former takes shortest amount of time, latter takes the longest). One you do this ten times (with skills that are major or minor), your level will raise by one. You don't need one single skill to go up by ten, for example ten long blade, but any combination of the major or minor skills.

thanks Dyomides. Contrary to what Stibbon's thinks. I chose the RedGuard because I READ THE MANUAL and I felt that character would be the best fighter. I also chose the Knight class for Healing,again I READ IT IN THE MANUAL.

I just met up with Caius and wanted to continue to explore the town before taking on his quests. I am suprised the reviews were not better on the XBOX version as compared to the PC.
