just one, the same I bought in 9/9/99
Still on my first. When the price for new went down to $99, I went to one of the DC area's FuckoLands to buy one, but they were sold out. I just shrugged and bought one of the new/refurbished systems and saved myself $20. I've had it for going on 16 months and it's working great. I dunno about the rest of you guys, but my DC is really loud! I'm talking about the sound the lens module makes as it slides back and forth along the track. It's very noticable from across the room and almost deafening compared to my PS1 and somewhat disturbingly-quiet Saturn. At first I was worried that I bought a lemon (it was refurbished, after all), but I've encountered no problems whatsover. *crosses fingers for the future*
Well... I have:
US DC (I have owned four or five, now I only have two.)
US DC (modded, stuck in the demo unit)
US Sports Pack DC (I have two of them, although I am missing one.)
JPN Sakura Taisen DC (with pink VMU... I rule!)
I only have one and it works perfectly.

Few consoles last forever. Sometimes you may need to replace 'em.
Sometimes you just want to have more than one. Sometimes you want special editions.
Anyways, at the 3 year mark- how many DC have you owned?
I bought my first on at launch (US). It started having texture map problems with all the games, except those using Windows CE. I had a 1 year warranty with Funcoland, but my DC died 2 weeks after that. Took the unit to Walmart and they game me another one.
My second DC was ripped off(October,2001), along with my PSX and N64. They stole all the games for those systems also.
With my insurance money, I replaced my DC, bought a PS2 and a Gamecube.
I've had two...still have them actually. One import and one domestic.
A friend purchased the import model for me. I was very excited about Sonic Adventure and Powerstone, which sold me on wanting the system. Prior to the "mod" tricks become public knowledge, 9-9-99 drew near and I was really anxious to play the American games (plus, we were getting a number of review copies from different companies, and there was no way I could play them). So, instead of bothering with the swap trick and all that (when it did finally become known), I just plunked down the cash for a domestic model.
Sometimes...it tends to act up ...like the system won't want to load a disc and stuff. Even if the game is new...I guess I'll try to get a new model before they sell out (um, are they even still on sale?) :(
Tres:
-US 9/9/99: signed by Yuji Naka and Yu Suzuki (now protected of course)
-Black Sega Sports edition: only used when I feel like playing on a TV.
-US 2001: Bought when Best Buy had them on sale. Used for VGA only.
You froze it?!?! :oQuote:

:p
I still have my origional 9.9.99 DC and it works like a charm. I did however have to replace the GD drive.
Just the one PAL DC. I've thankfully had no problems with it since buying it in early 2000. Here's hoping it continues to work for the forseeable future...I'll be playing DC games for a long time to come. ^_^
