A killing I will never repeat

So I was at work today (CVS/Pharmacy at 87th & Cicero, first IL location) and up at the front counter at like 4AM or something when I noticed a HUGE fly slowly side-stepping as I approached. Judging from this, I knew that I'd be able to successfully kill it, so I reached for a nearby issue of Glamour and slapped the fucker.

Upon impact the fly was squashed AND snapped in two; I let out a "Holy shit!" and leaned back while I watched the half of the fly hover in air before slowly tapping back to the counter...

... or so I thought it was the fly's other half. What I had appearently managed to do itstead was kill the fly AND disconnect it's maggot abdomen or whatever, which explains why the torso was slowly crawling and writhing with small white worms all over the place.

Smashing the maggots directly into the counter and sweeping the still-twitching but half-wingless and compressed fly into the trash concluded the event. Here I was thinking I'd kill one fly but I killed 20 or so I guess :) Though that insecticide doesn't match the time when I introduced a catepillar nest that infested a shrub outside the store to a bottle of Ronsonol lighter fluid...

reminds me of the mutated bugs I see in resident evil. now that is sick (hurls)

Yeah, it's sick how the whole thing has turned into a political and media trump card. I can't even listen to NPR without hearing about the shit, news reports notwithstanding. Patriotism is frightening.

I have a strong dislike for bugs.

I don't like bugs either. Especially spiders.

I had a 2-3 inch spider on my ceiling the other day. A spider of that magnitude is almost unheard of around here. I almost fainted, used about 70-90 sheets of toilet paper to kill that fucker, and almost still passed out.

I remember back in 1998 here in Houston, there was a cricket plauge (belive me, it was a plauge... there were millions just swarming everything- outside a local Borders bookstore they would cover the walls near the ceilings).

If you just drove down the road you would kill at least a hundred of them.

So, one day late at night some guys with pressure washers went to a shoping center (where the crikets were wont to hang out... I guess it was all the bright parking lot lights) and began thier insectile holocaust. It was pretty entertaining watching it actually. They'd get up to in to corners where the crickets were concentrated and just let fly with gallons of water at 200 psi. It was sooo cool.

Bugs aren't spiders. Spider eat bugs. That's good. I don't really care. If it's simplier to catch it and let it go outside I will. also, it depends on my mood. Sometimes you just want to kill stuff. I try to just kill ants in that period. I'm not scared of bugs or spiders. It's more of ah... stay out my way or I'll kill yah kind of deal. yes.
The most interesting thing is to be 6 and watching a beetle thrash around in its death. You can help it but it's going to die anyway... but you want to watch it... till it stops moving... till its very still. You learn about death in that way I guess. what it is. The stillness.

Personally, I think flies are the most revolting thing I've ever seen but I still bred them for a science project in highschool.

Flies are pretty nasty, when they land on you, they puke then suck it back up.. not to mention all the shit they've been playing poker in..

Maggots are best with salt... not really.

This reminds me: About a week ago, while walking across the street, I heard a crazy buzzing sound coming from a tree in my yard. I walked back home to investigate, and saw something fall from the tree. It was a freaking loud locust or something (it was green, and I've never seen a live locust) being jabbed in the abdemon by a huge bee. I kinda felt sorry for the guy, so I poked the bee from afar with a stick to make it angry.

By the way, we seem to have a terrible spider problem down here in my area of Florida. I see atleast 3 black widows around the outside of the house a day. Thankfully, I've never been stung by a spider, but I just about have a heart attack every time I walk face first into a huge spider web.

Today there was some bug on my foot, but it was dark and I didn't realize it. So I picked it up and put it on my nightstand and then saw it moving. Almost had a heart attack then put my light on. Stupid beetle. I started playing with and poking it and such, until it was over on it's back. I thought of Cyco while I laughed at it struggling to get back, but just couldn't do it. But eventually I did pick it up, and flush it down the toilet. (he couldn't fly, no reason to let him live.)

I, unfortunately have a basement with a partially dirt floor. As a result I occaisionally see these thing that look like centipedes (they have another name), they get a inch/ inch and a half long and are disturbing looking. Even worse, when you kill them they bleed purple and their legs fall off and twitch for a few minutes.

I should suggest these things to Konami for the next Silent Hill. *-neo

One time I opened my garbage can to find thousands of maggots crawling all over the sides and on the bag. Me and my dad were gonna set it on fire and I was all hyped up to do it as I'm sort of a pyromaniac but then my stupid neighbor told my dad to just dump it in the woods, so he carried it across the street and chucked it. It was pretty damn cool but it would have been so much better if I got to set it on fire. I wonder what those little maggots are doing right now...

I also once killed a spider that must have been pregnant or something, cuz when I killed it about 30 smaller spiders emerged, where they proceeded to crawl around my kitched floor, until I smashed them all that is. That was pretty cool as well. Yep, killing bugs, all in a days work.

A few weeks back we had this problem where some stupid fly kept buzzing around our apartment. It was SO annoying. Well, after a few days of putting up with the pest, I decided it was time to flex my muscles.

I saw the fly just walking on the dining room table, so I quietly grabbed a bag of nuts that was sitting there and threw it right on the fly at a great rate of speed. It didn't kill it, but it wasn't able to fly away, either. And afterwards I celebrated by yelling "Who's the king of the jungle now, huh? WHO'S THE KING OF THE FUCKING JUNGLE NOW, BITCH!!" I felt like such a big man afterwards.

Nah, millipedes don't bother me for some reason. These things look like a caterpillar's body with a few hundred really long legs. Have a old biology book with a pic of one, I'll have to check the name, Anacillica I think.... *-neo

Yeah, Neo. We got those things too. Once in a while you can see them in the basement, or sometimes they crawl out to the upper floor. Last week we found one that got into glass of water and DROWNED there :p
